Ibadan Poly: Cult gangs engage in gun battle, disrupts academic activities

The Management of The Polytechnic Ibadan has said investigation has began to know the cause of the fracas that happened among two cults gangs.  It was gathered that two rival cult gangs engage in a shootout in the polytechnic Ibadan on Monday.  The fracas which led to palpable apprehension in the polytechnic community disrupted academic and other activities in the institution.  Eyewitnesses account that, the two shootings took place around the Central Administrative Building of the campus and it lasted for about 10 to 15 minutes. People scrambled for safety while the shootings lasted, disrupting academic activities, but calmness had since returned on the campus. 2022 Batch A: Orientation course closes nationwide, as Ondo State Coordinator charges corps members to be security conscious

The NYSC Ondo State Coordinator, Mrs. Victoria Nnenna Ani has charged corps members to study their environment and be security conscious as they settle down in their various host communities. The State Coordinator made the charge when she debriefed the 2022 Batch 'A' (Stream 1) corps members as they round off the orientation course which started three weeks ago. Mrs. Ani maintained that the times are hard and unscrupulous elements in the society are all over the places trying to take advantage of citizens and residents who may not be wary of their dastardly act. "My distinguished children, I am indebted to you as a mother to give you tips that will protect you during and even after the service year. Ondo: Amotekun rescues hairdresser from kidnappers den

An Ore-based Hairdresser, Morayo Ayeni has narrated how she was hypnotised at her shop before she was rescued by men of the Ondo State  Security Network Agency codenamed Amotekun Corps, at the weekend from kidnappers den by suspected ritualists along Ore/Akure highway in the State. Speaking with newsmen in Akure after she was rescued, the 29- year-old Hairdresser, Morayo Ayeni, who is an indigene of Irele local government area of the state, but resident in Ore, Odigbo local government area of the state, narrated how she was abducted. The State Coordinator made this admonition when the corps medical professionals of the 2022 Batch 'A' (Stream 1) service year made a presentation of electric sterilizer to the management of the Scheme in the Sunshine State. Oyo corps members urged to be proud of their culture

Corps members have been advised to appreciate and imbibe each others culture, an act which fosters unity amongst tribes .  The NYSC Oyo State Coordinator, Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe gave the advice in her remark at the 2022 Batch 'A' (Stream 1) Inter Platoon Carnival /Cultural Day held at Iseyin Camp.  She said that our cultures though different, remains a representation of our togetherness as a formidable force that will help reunite our nation. The attention of Management has been drawn to a social media account, purported to be NYSC official account, requesting unsuspecting Corps Members and Prospective Corps Members to contact the promoters for the underlisted services:  1. CONCESSIONAL DEPLOYMENT 2. CONCESSIONAL POSTING  3. AGE REDUCTION FOR THOSE ABOVE 30 YEARS  Please, all NYSC stakeholders should note that the said account is FAKE, as NYSC shall never advertise, or indulge in such illegality.  The fraudsters copied some stories from the authentic social media platforms of the Scheme in order to make the fake account have semblance of genuineness.  Management wishes to state that concessional deployment and relocation are granted based on the Deployment and Relocation policies of the Scheme, with requests treated on individual merit.  NYSC does not charge fees for services rendered to either prospective or serving Corps Member.  The general public, especially Corps Members and prospectiv...
