Gov Aiyedatiwa pays Waec fees of 23,048 students

The Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has approved the sum of Six Hundred and Thirty-three Million, Nine Hundred and Eighteen Thousand Naira (N633, 918, 000.00) for the payment of registration fees for public secondary school students in the State for the 2025 West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) Secondary School Certificate Examination to alleviate the financial burden of parents and guardians. Governor Aiyedatiwa gave the approval on Friday and the payment will cover a total of 23, 048 secondary school students who passed the Joint Senior Secondary School II Promotion Examination in the State conducted by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. The Special  Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Emergency Response, Hon. (Prince) Wellington Oriade Adebawo has implored  petrol marketers and transporters in the state to adhere to the federal government's new policy reducing the permissible capacity of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) tankers from 60,000 liters to 45,000 liters. Sunshine Stars management issues three-match ultimatum to coaching crew, Team Manager, others

The management of Sunshine Stars has handed a three-match ultimatum to the club’s coaching crew following a poor run of form. The ultimatum also extends to the Team Manager, Welfare Officer and other backroom staff. This decision was reached after an extensive assessment of the team’s performance since the beginning of the second stanza of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL). Sunshine Stars have managed to secure only seven points out of a possible 21 in the second half of the 2025 NPFL season. The management has made it clear that both the coaching crew and other backroom staff must improve their performance in the next three games or face sanctions. A renowned professor of English Language and Applied English Linguistics, Uriel Okunrinmeta, has stated that for Nigerias Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) education framework to be effectively implemented, a home-grown English model that reflects the nation's socio-cultural realities should be adopted as the medium of instruction.
