In continuation of his campaign tour, the gubernatorial candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Eyitayo Jegede, has promised the residents of Oba Akoko improved electricity supply.
Jegede who made the disclosure during his visit to the community today, noted that if elected, his administration will not pay lip services to the needs of the people.
According to him, he said, "I was informed that this community suffers robust setback due to absence of light and water"
"If elected as Governor, I will resuscitate some moribund facilities and uplift the vulnerable out of penury"
"Also all the roads in the Nooks and Crannies will be reconstructed for smooth passage of pedestrians and travellers", he assured.
The Guber candidate also told the residents not to weary over the violence that transpired in the community few days ago, adding that it was an attempt to sabotage his assiduous efforts.
It will be recalled that the supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC), few days ago unleashed violence on the supporters of the People's Democratic Party in the community.
Earlier, the erstwhile chairman of the People's Democratic Party in the state, Mr Clement Faboyede urged Oba people to eschew from violence and also ensure that the party coasts home to victory.
Faboyede who was a former commissioner in the previous government under the PDP, noted that a befitting town was built for the community, adding no administration surpassed PDP in the facet of infrastructural development.
"Under Peoples Democratic Party regime eight years ago, we built a town hall in this community and no other government has ever done that after PDP"
"It is now the time to enjoy the benefits PDP has for you"
"People’s Democratic Party government will make everything easy when voted for"
In same vein, the residents of Akungba Akoko, in Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo state also trooped out in thier numbers to welcome Mr Eyitayo Jegede.
However, the former attorney general of the state, appealed to the community for their robust support ahead of the poll slated for Oct 10.
