Rugipo: SUG election didn't turn bloody --- Mgt

Following the recent news flying via social media that one student was killed as Ondo Poly SUG election turns bloody, the Management of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo has debunked the purported news, describing some part of the news as an unverified and misleading one 

In a statement obtained by Newsline NG and signed by, Director, Public relation and Protocol, Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo, Mr S. O. Ojo(JP) noted that the ugly scenario happened outside the institution and never have any connection with the student union government election as reported online. 

The statement reads in part, "The attention of the management Rufus giwa polytechnic ,Owo has been drawn to varying unverified and misleading online reports on the ugly scenario surrounding the killing of two students of the institution on February 11th ,2021.

The clash, according to reports ,happened outside the institution in probably cult related circumstances.

One of the victims was said to have died on the spot after been shot,while the other got shot on the neck.

He was rushed to the school's health center and was later rushed back to the Federal medical center where he later gave up the ghost.

However,the police are still investigating the incidence .

Meanwhile,the management is at all times concerned with the welfare of all students and would try all their possible best to ensure their safety.

The public are however enjoined to jettison these unestablished online reports and dismiss any apprehension as the institution is peaceful and that students are all busy with their academic activities.
