Kano Pillars Defeat: Akinbobola Lauds Supporters

Former Board Member of the Nigeria Premier League Board and Director General of Sunshine Stars FC, Otunba Akinsola Akinbobola has commended the people of Ondo state for their massive support during the team's victory over the highly rated Kano Pillars in the week 32 game of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Akinbobola in a release made available to newsmen by his media aide, Kayode Samuel said the massive support received especially inside the Sports Complex from the football loving people of the state led by the Chief of Staff to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN),  Chief Olugbenga Ale gingered the team a lot.

The swaggersious display of the fans from the beginning to the end of the entertaining encounter was massive.

The presence of the Chief of staff to the state government at the sporting arena where Sunshine Stars stunned Kano Pillars 1-0 in the quest to exit red zone was a morale booster for the players and their handlers.

The Director General of the team said, the team has resolved to sustain this winning streak in order to encourage, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for his continued support for the team.

The former Ondo State Football Agency boss added that almighty God has been merciful in answering our prayers most especially at this critical period, urging the masses and the government  not to relent in their efforts at ensuring Sunshine Stars cement retaining a comfortable position in the Nigerian Elite League.

He said winning for Sunshine Stars is a win for all the citizens of the state, it's not yet over. The team need masses' support more than ever before.

"We are gradually winning the battle against relegation by God's grace and His mercy we shall surely conquer the red zone at the end of the season"

He praised the players for keying into the tactics and the philosophy of the new coaching crew which has been yeilding positive results.

He also gave kudos and big bravo to the three man committee, headed by the  Deputy Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa for their unrelenting efforts at ensuring the team exit danger zone.

Despite the unavoidable absence of the Deputy Governor due to state's engagement, he kept calling time to time sending words of encouragement to the players through the Director General of the team.

"The  team shall continue to work hard and  remain focused  in the  quest to return the state owned club to where it used to be among the footballing fraternity".
