The Olowo of Owo Kingdom, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin (Ogunoye III); Publisher of The Precision NG online newspaper, Hakeem Adebumiti and son of Ondo State Governor, Babajide Akeredolu are among those that would be honoured at this year’s Ondo State Media Awards.
Mr Yinka Richards on behalf of the organizers of the award, had in a letter of congratulations to one of the recipients of the Awards, Mr Adebumiti, noted that the award ceremony would hold on Sunday, July 25 at the Dome in Akure, the state capital by 2pm.
Richards in the 7-paragraph letter titled, “Investiture as Ondo State Media Personality (Online) of the Year,” and addressed to the Publisher of The Precision NG, disclosed that the recipients of the Awards were determined by members of the public through a voting exercise.
“I have the honour to inform you that the public and outside the state through a voting exercise via our online platform have adjudged you the Ondo State Personality (Online) 2021.
“This is on account of your indomitable passion for the development of humanity as a sure way to enhancing over growth and development, a passion you demonstrated over the years through the development of the media industry with incredible results that remain to be matched in your state till date.
He added that the awards is designed to pay homage to the resilience and creative capacity of individuals and organizations who have upped the ante in their different fields of endeavour.
“In the age when genuine reformers with sincerity of purpose, uncommon vision, focus and fortitude are bred less frequently, it becomes a desideratum to identify and celebrate those that are making their visible marks in the task of societal transformation even if only to create a sense of desire for others to emulate their noble deeds.”
Others to be given Awards are Chairman Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic, Kaura, Zamfara state, Hon. Omowunmi Olatunji-Ohwovoriole; former federal lawmaker, Gbenga Elegbeleye; OAUSTECH VC, Prof. Sunday Ogunduyile; Dr (Mrs) Damilola Oshin; Surveyor Kayode Oludare; Hon. Tunji Boyero and Bofoat Group of Schools.
Also to be honored are Mr Segun Adesemoye; Crest FM’s Adeolu Gboyega and Godday Ighoteguono; OSRC’s Akinwunmi Abodunde and Richard Ilesanmi; Adaba FM’s Adeola Adekunle and Jumoke Omotoso; and Kehinde Adewunmi of the Ondo State Ministry of Information.
This is the 11th edition of the Ondo State Media Awards.
