The Diploma is suitable for all professions associated with Health, it is a pathway to Higher Education in Gerontology worldwide, a career development and also serve as an employment opportunity globally. 

Most entrants will have a Degree from a recognized University, but applications will be considered from those who have suitable Academic or Professional Qualifications. 

The approach will be problem oriented and the core modules will include an interacting modules to illustrate the application of techniques to current problems in Public Health and care giving. 

In many countries in Africa, Training in Gerontology is inadequate and often neglects the social dimension of ageing

So, there is an urgent need to expand Educational opportunities in the profession of GERONTOLOGY
