Oyo: Corps Members sensitised on their financial benefits



The Head, Account and Finance Mrs.Oyem Patricia sensitized 2021 Batch B stream 2 corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp Iseyin, Oyo State on their entitlements during the service year.

Mrs Patricia Oyem informed the corps members on the financial benefits they are  meant to enjoy during the orientation exercise and throughout their service year. She mentioned the two categories of financial benefits as in-camp and post-camp. 

The in-camp benefits are transport, bicycle allowance and the first monthly allowance which will be given before they leave for their Places of Primary Assignment.

Speaking on the post-camp allowance which are of different types, monthly , theft and sick leave allowance in case of any serious sickness but with all necessary evidences depending on the severity and the amount spent.

She further stressed the need for corps members to adhere strictly to instructions given in camp about opening of accounts to ensure accessibility of monthly allowance. 


"It is an offence not to be paid monthly allowance for a period of two to three months, as it attracts disciplinary action against any erring corps member" she warned.

In the same vein, corps members were also sensitized on the teaching techniques,how to be an Ideal Teacher and how to prepare a good lesson note. 

This lecture was delivered by trained corps member  Oshilaja Shakirat Wunmi -OY/21B/5523 and corps member Gbemisola Olaniyi - OY/21B/ 5513.


They both taught their fellow corps members various teaching techniques and different instructional materials available to impact positively on their students when they are posted to schools for their primary assignment.

Corps members were equally enjoined to dress neatly and develop good attitudes that would be worthy of emulation by the students.
