What we know about Speaker’s N2.4m Alleged Fraud --- Ondo Assembly

The Ondo State House of Assembly has spoken on the reported allegations levelled against the Speaker of the Assembly, Bamidele Oleyelogun over N2.4 million seminar fraud. It was reported this morning (Tuesday)  that the convoy of the Speaker arriving the premises of the Olokuta Correctional centre in a scheduled arraignment over Fraud allegations which did not eventually hold as scheduled at the State High Court. In a telephone interview, the Majority Leader of the Assembly, Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi said the Speaker was not inside the convoy sighted by Journalists, noting that Oleyelogun was not directly involved in the case, so he could not be true that he was arraigned. Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN, has ordered the immediate closure of Mai Asubahi Night Club and GidanBarau, in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of the state. The closure became imperative on the heels of growing security concerns among residents of Ore in Odigbo Local Government Area over the criminal activities of a gang known as Zamfara boys, who specialize in peddling hard drugs/illicit substances and underage commercial sex hawking. The Governor has, consequently, ordered the Commander of the State Security Network, (Amotekun) to mobilize personnel to effect this directive forthwith. Fraud allegation: Ondo speaker arraigned in court

The Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly, Bamidele Oleyelogun has been arraigned in court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged financial impropriety. Oleyelogun and some members and officials of the Assembly were alleged by Hon. Iroju Ogundeji, the deputy speaker of the Assembly who was controversially removed, of collecting and sharing some money for a seminar in Lagos which they never attended. According to report, Ogundeji had written EFCC to investigate the fund allegedly collected and shared by the speaker and others for a phoney seminar in Lagos. But operatives of the Olokuta Correctional Centre prevented journalists who were on ground to cover the court proceedings from gaining entry into the court. A Squadron Commander, who manned the entry point, insisted that journalists could not be allowed in because there was an order from Abuja that all correctional centres should be on red alert to prevent jailbreak.

The screening of Commissioner nominees by the Ondo State House of Assembly billed to continue today (Tuesday, 30/11/2021) has been rescheduled. The exercise which started yesterday (Monday 29/11/2021) was suspended because the Chairman House Committee on Selection and the Speaker of the House, Rt Honourable Oleyelogun Bamidele David is indisposed. The exercise will continue tomorrow Wednesday 1st December,2021 at 1pm at the Conference Room of the Speaker. MHR Bemoans Spate of Killings in Okitipupa cult clash

Church cleaner hacked to death in Ondo

A middle aged woman known as Mrs Ọmọde have been allegedly killed by an unidentified suspects at Iwaro Oka, in Akoko Southwest local government area of Ondo State. Omode was reported to be on her way to sweep a Deeper Life Bible Church in the community before she was killed by yet-to-be identified suspects in the early hours of Sunday. The National Youth Service Corps Oyo State has been blessed with the birth of a new born baby girl.  The mother, Olayanju Eniola who is a Prospective corps member with State code OY/21C/ 4581 fell into labor during her registration process at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp Iseyin, on Thursday 25th November 2021 and was quickly rushed to the General Hospital,Iseyin. The Assistant Director Corps Inspection and Monitoring ( Head Camp Clinic) Mrs Olusesi Adebimpe, who was with her all the way ensured she was given adequate attention. Olayanju Eniola was eventually delivered of a baby girl  on  Friday 26th of November 2021. NASOW holds 37th Conference in Lagos

Gunmen kidnap 3yr old girl in Akure

There is palpable fear around onward area of ondo in akure the state capital over abduction of a three year old girl in the late hour on Wednesday It was gathered that the girl was inside her mother's car with another sibling coming from a church Programme around futa north gate.  The mother had barely entered her compound and was about locking the gate when two hefty men came out of a Benz car which has been trailing them from Agagu road.  The gunmen allegedly seized the young girl with a threat to shoot the mother and the other child before they zoomed off after holding the key of the woman's car to prevent being chased with the car.  Some residents and passers-by who were attracted by the wailing of the woman were said to have pursued the gunmen with the help of okada riders  All effort to locate their route after getting to the main road proved abortive The case has been reported at fanibi police station while eforts are been made to contact the Amotekun corps....

Ilaje: Group commends Akeredolu over approval of Ode-ugbo Mother and Child Hospital

Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has been commended for his endless supports in ensuring the speedy approval of Mother and Child Hospital at Ode-ugbo, in Ilaje local government area of the state. The Amona Ilaje Ugbo Coastal Communities Development Association (AMAICOMMA) made the commendation during the 2nd annual general meeting held at the  Oba Makin Osangangan hall, Ode-Ugbo, Ilaje local government. Babatunde Omidina, popularly known as Baba Suwe, has passed away. The actor gave up the ghost on Monday after a long battle with an illness. Born on August 22, 1958, he was married to comedienne Omoladun Omidina, who died in September 2009. The Police Command in Osun says the autopsy on the slain post-graduate student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Timothy Adegoke, is delayed because his family’s insisted on being part of the process. The Police Public Relation Officer in the state, SP Yemisi Opalola, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday in Osogbo, said that the autopsy would now be carried out on Monday (tomorrow) at Osun University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo. Opalola, however, said that the deceased’s body was deposited at UTH as against Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, which she erroneously mentioned during a radio programme “based on misinformation.” She also said that no part of the deceased’s body was removed when it was exhumed in the presence of his family members, the police and the pathologist, as being rumoured. “The family has indicated that they will be available on Monday (tomorrow) for the conduct of the autopsy. “I will like to add that the deceased’s family member...
