CsFirst Lagos Edu Consult has announced a partnership with a non-profit organization, Micro:bit Educational Foundation to train 4800 students and teachers across Nigeria in a coding and digital skills programme tagged "Code Nigeria".

Mr. Uche Nwaobi, Co-founder & Managing Director, CsFirst Lagos Edu Consult made this known via a statement released at the company's headquarter in Lagos on Monday.

According to Nwaobi, 4800 students and teachers will be trained across  four regions (West, East, South and North) in Nigeria.

Nwaobi stated that it is important students are equipped with programming and digital skills in preparation for the world they would live in as adults. He also explained that students will be using the Micro:bit platform and devices, adding that the Code Nigeria challenge will follow after each regional training.

Micro:bit is known to be the tiniest robot in the world that students can create fun activities with while learning coding and robotics.

The education and tech expert noted that winners will be selected from each region and they will compete for a grand prize that will be presented at an awards ceremony and Gala.

Nwaobi added that participants are entitled to win a prize which includes Laptops, Tablets, Micro:bit devices, Robots, Books, Bags and so on.

He noted that schools that attend the training will also be recognized by BBC Micro:bit with a global certificate of recognition.



Furthermore, CEO of CsFirst Lagos Edu Consult, Mr Akpan Emmanuel stated that the training will help students prepare for the future, leading the motto of the workshop and challenge, "...Be future ready".

According to him, the world has gone digital and its important students are introduced to it at an early stage.

He also announced the kick off date to be Monday, 24th of January 2022 in commemoration of the UN International Day of Education.

The Director, Coding and Robotics of the company, Mr Godwin Bassey advised participants to be prepared as the best will be chosen for the grand finale.
