FUTA 400 Level Student Diagnosed With Kidney Disease

A 400 level student in the Department of Physics Electronics at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), AbdulMojeed Adegoke has a chance of survival, only if he could get 14.5 million naira in donation. AbdulMojeed, had been been diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and would need a kidney transplant. The Student is currently being managed at the Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti (ABUAD) Multi System Hospital. A letter obtained by Precision Online Newspaper written by the physician managing him at ABUAD, Dr S. O. Oguntola which was addressed to the FUTA Muslim Community Chairman, Prof. Ishaq Amoo, urged well meaning Nigerians to render assistance to the young undergraduate. Ondo govt trains 100 youths in fish farming

As part of its programme, tagged 'Blue Revolution', to boost revenue, the  Ondo State Government has started the process of training of over 100 youths in fishery and aquaculture in the state  The Blue Revolution is a programme designed by Ondo State Government to boost fish production in the state. Ondo State Governnor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, at the flagging off of the programme in Akure on Wednesday said the project was to improve fish value chain in the state. Akeredolu, represented by his Deputy, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa said  the project would open several opportunities like production of fingerlings, fish farming equipments,shrimp production,feed production, enhancement of protein intake and improved IGR. AAUA VC Charges Affiliated Colleges on Academic Excellence.

The Vice Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Prof. Olugbenga Ige, has counseled affiliated institutions to always indicate their  institution's name before they write in affiliation with Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba-Akoko.  The  VC gave the advice in Akungba during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the AAUA and Bayo Tijani College of Education, Lagos. The MoU permits the College to run Degree programmes in Education under the supervision of the University. Atiku wins PDP presidential primary election

Former vice-president and serial presidential aspirant, Atiku Abubakar, has emerged as the presidential candidate of the opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party. Atiku emerged as a candidate at the end of the presidential primary after polling 371 votes. Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, scored 237 votes. Other aspirants with the number of votes polled include Bukola Saraki – 70; Sam Ohuanbunwa – 1; Anyim Pius Anyim – 14; Udom Emmanuel – 38 votes; Bala Mohammed – 20.

Incumbent lawmaker representing Idanre/Ifedore federal constituency of Ondo State, Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye has won the APC House of Representatives re-election ticket with a landslide victory. Small Alhaji scored 70 votes to defeat Moshood Bakare who scored 6 votes while the incumbent speaker of Ondo State House of Assembly came distance third with 3 votes. Gunshots were fired at the venue of the Akure North/South Primary election being held at Ade Super Hotel in Akure, Ondo state capital today (Friday)  Delegates, journalists, and INEC officials have to scamper for safety as canisters of tear gas were fired. The Nigeria Union of Journalists Oyo State Council has demanded for justice from the State Police Command over the assault meted to a Reporter of the The Nation Newspaper, Yinka Adeniran at the Peoples Democratic Party gubernatorial primary in Ibadan.  The NUJ in a statement signed by its Chairman, Ademola Babalola regretted that the officer of the Command who went overboard and attacked the harmless reporter did not show any remorse when the NUJ leadership demanded for why the reporter was assaulted.  Babalola said such an uncivilised and vicious attack on Adeniran was condemnable and therefore demanded that justice be done, because the image of the officer had trended on social media platforms and the police should therefore ensure the officer is brought to book.  Adeniran is a reporter attached to the Oyo state Governor's Office. A group under the auspices of APC Akoko for Good Governance, has warned all Akoko-born political appointees of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu against working against their people by endorsing a stooge of the governor. A lawyer, Ife Adedipe(SAN) has won the PDP primary election for Ondo Central Senatorial District. He polled 82 votes to beat the incumbent Senator, Ayo Akinyelure who scored 58 votes. While Former PDP Chairman in the state, Clement Faboyede  polled 57 votes.

Ajayi scored 78votes to beat Tofowomo who polled 74votes, Godday Erewa and Iroju Ogundeji. Senator Ayo Akinyelure had earlier lost in the central senatorial district today.

Presenting the vehicles to the seven judges, Makinde, represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mrs Olubamiwo Adeosun said it was in fulfilment of the promise the government made to the state judiciary. ”The state government gave some vehicles to some judges in 2021 and is also planning to provide more for Magistrates. “The vehicles are brand new and not manufactured in Nigeria. “Work is in progress to tar the state high court premises and meet the other needs of the judiciary,” he said. Police confirms death of Engineer in Ondo

Unknown gunmen have killed a 49-year-old man identified as Abayomi Olukoju popularly known as Engineer.  The father of four who hailed from Ajowa Akoko in Akoko North West Local Government Area of Ondo State was gunned down along Ifefe road between Ajowa and Akunnu-Akoko.  It was learnt that the deceased was killed by the bandits after he tried to escape from the scene of the kidnapping, very close to a spot where the popular Abuja-Ajowa bound driver Toyin Mallah was killed recently on his way from Abuja. The incident was reported to the Police by  passers-by who discovered the lifeless body of Abayomi who was said to be on his way to work when the assailants shot him. 2022: International Museum Day celebrated in grandstyle
