Corps members deployed to Oyo State for the 2022 Batch: B’ Stream 1 orientation course have been advised to perfect their training in whatever SAED skills set they have chosen.
The State Coordinator NYSC Oyo State Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe gave the advice at the SAED Inter-platoon Competition/Exhibition and Closing Ceremony held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Iseyin, Oyo State.
She commended the determination and zeal shown by corps members during the Incamp training.She noted that despite the short duration of the training,they were able to learn alot under the program.
She further urged them to continue with the mastery of the skills by enrolling in the Post camp SAED training where experienced facilitators would take them on all the nittygritty of the chosen skill.
Ogbuogebe equally informed the corps members on the need to create multiple source of income. Stating that this can only be achieved if they key into the SAED program.

Earlier in her remark, the Assistant Director SAED, Mrs Atinuke Ojo expressed her appreciation to the Management for creating enabling environment for the SAED program to thrive in the State. She also tasked the corps members to take up the SAED program which creates streams of opportunities, noting that they have a lot ahead of them.
Highlights of the event was the inspection /exhibition of the finished products of the various skill sets by the Management. While the winners of the Inter - Platoon SAED competition were presented with prizes.
OYO CAMP: ACCESS BANK DOLES OUT CASH PRIZES
In its efforts to support the graduate youths in their strive to contribute immensely to the economic growth of the nation, the Access Bank PLC with its Accessprenuer - NYSC Business Plan Competition has doled out cash prizes worth millions of naira to support the winners of the competition at Iseyin Camp.
The Competition was aimed at supporting corps members who have keyed into the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program of the NYSC with start-up funds for their chosen skills.
The contest which was drawing of a business plan and being able to defend it had ten contestants.
The contestants during the competition, were given opportunity to participate in the presentation of the business plan which would grant them access to funds or grant for their businesses.
Participating at the event, the top five contestants who scaled through the initial stage, presented their business plans spanning various skill set. Adeyinka Gold Gamaliel, State Code OY/22B/0562 emerged winner of the One million naira prize as start-up capital for his music production business plan.
The First runner up with Seven Hundred Thousand naira prize was clinched by Popoola Samuel, OY/22B/0454 while Olayori Peace Olumide, LA/22B/3129 won the Four Hundred Thousand naira prize for the second runner-up.
Other prizes include the Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand naira, One Hundred and Fifty Thousand and the One Hundred Thousand naira consolation prizes that were presented to the participants.
In her remark, the NYSC Oyo State Coordinator Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe, expressed her appreciation to the funding institution - Access Bank PLC for organizing such a monumental event. She advised the winners to plunge their winnings into their businesses so that it can yield more profits.
She equally stated that the essence of the competition was to improve and ensure business growth and admonished the winners not to divert the funds towards unprofitable venture.
Ogbuogebe further assured them that she would monitor their businesses.
Furthermore, the Assistant Director, SAED, Mrs Atinuke Ojo, applauded the sponsors of the Business Plan competition while encouraging other corps members to embrace the SAED program which would not only afford them the opportunity to acquire a skill but would grant them access to various funding options for the growth of their businesses.
