The Oyo State Chief Judge (CJ), Justice Munta Abimbola, has urged the new leadership of Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Ibadan branch, to collaborate with the bench for effective justice delivery in the state.

Abimbola, while recieving the new executive led by the chairman, Mrs Folasade Aladeniyi on a courtesy visit on Friday in Ibadan, congratulated them for emerging victorious.

The CJ noted that in the Judiciary, the bar and the bench were like identical twins performing different functions aimed to achieving same goal.

He, therefore, encouraged great partnership and cooperation between the bar and the bench,  while stressing the duties of keeping the dignity of the court.

Abimbola prayed for a successful tenure of office for the new NBA executive.

Speaking earlier, Aladeniyi appreciated the CJ for making out time to receive them.

She lauded the CJ for the various projects in the High Court, especially the road construction.

She further explained that the committee would offer free legal services to suspects who do not have legal representation in court.

Aladeniyi  appealed to the CJ for the digitalisation of the courts and renovation of the court rooms, especially the Magistrate Courts.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Aladeniyi is the first female Chairman of Ibadan NBA in the last 68 years. (NAN)
