Key into opportunities in entertainment sector, SAN urges lawyers

A Panelist at the NBA Ibadan Legal Week,  Prof. Bankole Sodipo, (SAN) has urged legal practitioners to know more about the entertainment industry because of the numerous opportunities in it

Sodipo gave the advice ion Thursday when he spoke on, Legal Practice And The Arts: A Conversation On Entertainment Law And Intellectual Property.

He said there were lots of opportunities in the entertainment industry, which lawyers could tap into as they synergise with members of the industry..

He urged his colleagues to know all about the entertainment law and how to apply it when necessary.

The Zonal Director, Nigerian Copy Right Commission, Ibadan, Mrs Olabisi Ogundiran, reiterated that intellectual property and entertainment covered all aspects of life, including sport.

Ogundiran urged lawyers to be gainfully engaged and employed in the entertainment industry to make more impacts and profits.

Also, a Legal Practitioner, Mr Adewumi Salami, said the entertainment  industry had contributed significantly to the country’s Gross Domestic Product and urged young lawyers to be involved in it.

“Entertainment Law and practice is glamorous and dynamic with a broad scope innovation and digital technologies.

“One must have a passion for it before engaging in it because it can be challenging but has a lot of opportunities,” he said.
