Alleged fraud: Babajide Adefowora clears air

Following the viral news flying about on the new media about the arrest of  Mr Babajide Adekoya Adefowora in London, the said purported viral news has been debunked

It was gathered that Babajide Adekoya Adefowora and one Deborah Oyeniyi were alledged to have been involved in a fake laptops and iPhone delivery scam

Speaking about the development, Prince Babajide Adekoya Adefowora said the rumored viral news which happened about two years was not true

He said, "We were both actually employed as carers - managed to convince five householders to hand over four laptops and a red iPhone.

"Mr Attridge said £7,299 worth of the total £8,313 in goods had been recovered, while £17,550 had been applied for in credit.

" We were pulled over in a car near Brentwood on May 13 and found with five phones, including a red iPhone, two Microsoft Surface laptops, DPD uniforms, ripped up labels and paperwork displaying the details of four targeted households.

"My wallet was also found to contain a DPD identity card, while a further search of my address turned up another DPD uniform and DPD receipt.

"Judge Rupert Overbury said there was no evidence to suggest anyone else was involved.

"He said the fact that Adefowora and Oyeniyi had access to delivery information inferred it was they ordered the items.

Adefowora, however, alleged that the recent viral news that he was jailed might was people's mastermind and could be traced to activities by a group of gangsters

"I am very sure some gangsters are  behind the recent viral news and that's why i have i come to let Nigerians know how the issue was solved, i am innocent. He said.
