Nysc inducts New staff in Ekiti

The NYSC  Ekiti State Coordinator, Mrs Chikezie Mary Nenna, has charged the newly employed NYSC Staff posted to Ekiti to ensure that discipline takes precedence at all times in the course of discharging their duties.

Mrs. Chikezie while addressing the newly employed Staff during the induction workshop organized for them at the NYSC Secretariat Iyin Road Ado-Ekiti enlightened them on the peculiarities and rules of engagement of the NYSC.

The Assistant Director Human Resource Management, Mr. Akinola Simeon in his address enjoined the newly recruited Staff to cultivate the spirit of team work, excellence in service and humility in line with the tenets of the Scheme adding that they must maintain integrity and be shining examples to corps members. 

The Assistant Director, Corps Inspection and Monitoring, Mr. Orimolade E.S  informed the new Staff that the workshop was mainly to prepare them for the challenges ahead and build their capacity for effective service delivery to corps members and stakeholders.


Assistant Directors and Other Heads of Branches/Unit took turn to present lectures on the operations of their various offices to the newly employed Officers in the state.

Court Strikes out Oniju of Iju-Odo Chieftaincy Declaration

A High court sitting in Okitipupa has nullified the Oniju of Iju-Odo Chieftaincy declaration, holding that the State Government had no power to create a new chieftaincy without the consent of the Rebuja of Osooro land, the prescribed authority over chieftaincy matters in the communities within Osooro land, including Iju-Odo Community. The court declared that the Rebuja of Osooro land is the prescribed authority over chieftaincy matters in Osooro land and that the State Government has no power to create a new chieftaincy without following due process.  In a judgement made available to our correspondent, the court also held that the appointment of the 6th defendant as the Oniju of Iju-Odo was null and void, as it was not done in accordance with the custom and tradition of Iju-Odo.
