Mrs Julianah Ajibare Adu celebrates 80th birthday in grand style

Prominent indigenes of Ondo State at the weekend converged at Akure Diocese of Church of Nigeria -Anglican Communion, Saint David Cathedral to celebrate the 80th birthday of Mrs. Juliana Ajibare Adu. 

The event which was held at St. David's Anglican Cathedral church, Ijomu Street, Akure was graced by important dignitaries among the likes of, the Secretary to the Ondo State Government (SSG), Princess Oladunni Odu, Some government officials, National President of Aquinas College Old Students Association, Hon. Justice Adesuyi Olateru-Olagbegi, Ondo State NUJ Chairman, Prince Leke Adegbite and host of others. 

Speaking at the occasion, the Special Advisers to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on Health and Transport,  the chairman of Ifedore local government,  Mr Alex Oladimeji eulogized the octogenarian mother of Comrade Tayo Adu, a journalist and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain.

The Bishop of the Anglican Diocese, Simeon Borokini in his sermon advised children not to wait until the death of their parents before they celebrate them, saying they should make sure they take care of their parents when they are still alive. 

The Cleric said the Bible admonished us to count our days so that we may appreciate what God has done for us. He said attaining 80 years of age in a country where life expectancy is 45 years is not a mean feat.

He advised the children of the celebrant to emulate the good qualities of their mother and serve God diligently. He said Mrs. Adu is a devoted Christian who is a good example to others in the congregation. 





Mr Oluwatayo Adu while speaking with Newsline NG on behalf of the children expressed gratitude to God for the success of the Birthday celebration. 

"Words are not enough for me to express my profound gratitude towards you all for your esteemed presence, financial,moral support and your prayers in making my mum's 80th birthday celebration a huge success,thanks a million,oun ayo ko ni tan laye wa IJMN, Amen. He said 

With thanksgiving, the children moved to the event center of the church where they entertained their guests to a lavish reception.
