Protest Rocks Ondo West LG, Over Nomination of LCDA Chairmanship Aspirants

.... as Protesters Accuse Fagbemi in The Crisis

Protest has erupted in Ondo West Local Government over the nomination of Chairmanship aspirants into the newly created  Local Council Development Areas (LCDA).

One of the protesters, Bola Akande  in an interview with newsmen alleged the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Deaconess Lola Fagbemi of using her position to intimidate those who are not ready to dance to her whims and caprices.

Akande said: "Whenever a decision is taken at the local government by the leaders, Deaconess Lola Fagbemi will use her connection with the State Chairman of All Progressive Congress APC Engineer Ade Adetimehin".

 

Akinjise Ezekiel also said:  "Those who were supposed to add value to the party in Ondo West jettisoned the party for another political party due to Fagbemi's greed. During the last primary election, she  collected money from three people vying for the same position.

"The likes of Dr. Tola Awosika, Engr. Filesola and others would have a story to tell if contacted. This is why we are crying out  now that the position of local government chairman is not for sale as usual."

Miss Bolanle Akinrotimi said, " Lola Fagbemi has frustrated many of the party loyalists to another party for her greed for money, simply because Adetimehin is backing her.

Meanwhile, the leaders of "COALITION of APC Thinkers" have also submitted a position paper to the vice chairman of the local government, Hon. Akintunde Folajimi, who came to address the protesters.

"The Position Paper Reads;

"We, the leaders of COALITION of  APC Progressive Thinkers, stand that we will not allow a single person to dictate what happens in our local government. 

Over the years,  Hon Lola Fagbemi had been the one writing names of people who are not known in the political party to occupy political positions or to enjoy consensus decisions, thereby overriding the  other party leader's decisions." 

"We are the structure of the party and we have been labouring from the days of Action Congress, Enough of using us to work for people who bring money to Hon Lola Fagbemi at the expense of others who are toiling day and nights to ensure the party progresses.

"During the last primaries in the party, she turned many aspirants into her "ATM" and frustrated them out of the party after siphoning millions of naira from them.

"We were also reliably informed that this same Hon. Lola Fagbemi nominated two people from the same ward to represent two different LCDAs. Our question is that are there not party loyalists in the second LCDA? we stand against this cruelty in totality.

"We strongly believe  that the leadership of our party will do something to right the wrongs of Hon Lola Fagbemi in Ondo West Local Government so as to continue to enjoy peace in our party."

"While we appreciate our dear Governor His Excellency, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu for  creating LCDAs so that development can come to grassroot, Hon Lola Fagbemi's insidious moves is anti development, we will also be glad if Mr Governor can add more LCDA for us. She is a member of the LCDA creation committee, but we know she will never mention such to you."

"We  have ignorantly allowed her in the past, but this time around, we vehemently stand against her crafts.
