Closing ceremony/terminal parade: Gov. Makinde felicitates corps members, harps on productivity





The Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde has admonished Corps members mobilized to Oyo State and their counterparts dislodged from Lagos for the 2023 Batch B stream 2 orientation course to always bear in mind the oath of allegiance they have sworn to during the swearing-in ceremony. 

Makinde who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports,Mrs Olubukola Oladipo gave the admonition during the closing ceremony/terminal parade of the 2023 Batch B stream 2 orientation course at the NYSC permanent orientation Camp, Iseyin.

While delivering his speech, he congratulated Corps members for the successful completion of the first phase of the one year mandatory service.

He expressed confidence that the three-week orientation has equipped and adequately prepared them for the task of nation building ahead. 

He equally commended the Corps members for their responsiveness, dedication and commitment to camp activities which was targeted at creating a better version of them. 

He also encouraged them to continue to strive and do their best in building a united, peaceful,  prosperous and egalitarian society despite the economy challenges of our dear nation, stating that every individual has roles to play to redeem this nation. 

He urged them to productively put in their best no matter how little for the transformation of their host communities.

The Governor who tasked Corps members to cultivate and maintain a healthy relationship with their host communities,said “The people of Oyo State are very hospitable and accommodating. 

They do not discriminate against non indigenes. You will pleasantly discover that they are good welfarists. However, their goodwill should not be taken for granted. The people’s tradition, norms and ways of life must generally be respected”. 

Makinde seized the opportunity to commend the State Coordinator NYSC Oyo State, Mr. Odoba Abel Oche and all camp officials for their relentless efforts in achieving a successful orientation course.

He reiterated the commitment of his administration towards providing adequate welfare, hospitality and security for all citizens and residents of Oyo State.


Earlier in his address, the State Coordinator NYSC Oyo State,Mr. Odoba Abel Oche appreciated Oyo State Government for always supporting NYSC, he commended all camp officials and all Sponsors for the job well done.  

He urged Corps members to accept their postings in good faith and go into the nooks and crannies of the State to unleash their potentials for the benefit of the people.



He enjoined them to be good ambassadors of the Scheme and add value to the lives of the people of their host communities.
