Oyo corps members urged to brace up for responsibilities

The Acting Director and Head,Reforms of the National Youth Service Corps National Directorate Headquarters, Mr. Sunday Robert Aroni has tasked Corps members camping in the Oyo State NYSC permanent orientation camp, Iseyin to brace up for responsibilities and pick up the cap of leadership as the survival of the nation rest on their shoulders. 

He stated this during his visit to the 2023 Batch C stream 1 Corps members mobilised to Oyo State and their counterparts dislodged from Lagos. 

He enjoined Corps members to wake up to the reality of the fact that, school days are over and be prepared to handle this new phase of their life with full determination and sense of responsibility.

Mr. Aroni urged the Corps members to offer themselves humbly for all Camp trainings deliberately designed to make them a better version of themselves. 

He specially emphasized on Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development  as a way out of the current proliferating unemployment scenarios  ravaging the country, he appealed to Corps members to take it seriously so as to become self-reliant, wealth creators and job creators rather than becoming a job seeker.  

He appreciated the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Director General, NYSC, Brig. Gen. YD Ahmed  for the recent improvement in Corps members welfare and reiterated the commitment of NYSC management towards Corps welfare. 

He harped on security as being everyone’s business and encouraged Corps members to take responsibility for their personal security, avoid late night journey, accept their posting in good faith, respect the culture and traditions of their host communities and be good ambassadors of NYSC wherever they find themselves. 

The State Coordinator, NYSC Oyo State, Comrade Odoba Abel Oche earlier in his welcome address appreciated the DG NYSC for sending delegate to check on the Corps members in Oyo NYSC camp. 

He informed the acting Director how the Corps members are cooperating and obeying instructions. He assured him of their readiness to go into the world and make meaningful impacts.

The highlight of the event, was the cultural presentation by the NYSC cultural troupe and hearty cheers led by the overall parade commander.
