Don't trend on the part of Emefiele, Group - Save Ondo State warns Adetimehin, Odu against breach of rule of law

Following the recent allegation against the Ondo APC Chairman,  Mr. Ade Adetimehin and Secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu, Save Ondo State (SOS), has cautioned the duo against trending on the part of Emefiele by disregarding and disrespecting the Rule of Law, Court Order and Nigeria constitution.

It would be recalled that several groups and group of individuals have differently alleged the Ondo State APC Chairman,  Mr. Ade Adetimehin and Secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu for constituting  constitutional crisis in Ondo state by forming an illegal caretaker committee across the 18 local governments and 33 LCDAs.

Save Ondo State (SOS) has described the action of the Chairman, Ondo State APC and SSG as total disregard for Rule of Law as they are not empowered by Nigeria constitution by the virtue of their positions as party chairman and SSG to constitute and swear in LG Caretaker Committee.

In a press statement issued by the group's Director of Media and Publicity, Comerade Niyi Felix Majofodun described the action of Ondo APC Chairman and SSG as total disrespected for the Rule of Law.

"Despite the State High Court order against the inauguration of the illegal constitution of the LG Caretaker chairmen in Ondo State, the duo still allegedly went ahead to swear in the caretaker committee.

"Following the constitutional provision, if the Governor of a state is not around, the Deputy Governor takes over the affairs of the government and as it stands in Ondo State today, the Deputy Governor is still the Head of government, and information at my disposal revealed that the Deputy Governor had received the court order not to inaugurate LGAs/LCDAs caretaker committee. While the Deputy Governor honored the court order including the Attorney General of the state by boycotting the inauguration, the state party chairman and Secretary disregarded the court order and went ahead to do the inauguration. I pray they will not end their episodes like that of Emefiele."

"The implication of their actions, has provoked two serious offenses - impersonation and contempt of court.

"If they claimed that they were not served with the court order, they have forgotten that the present head of government in Ondo State which is the Deputy Governor had received the court order which is already banned on them.

"On this note, we wish to humbly advise the appointees to be very careful so that they will not go to political markets to buy a cheap jail term for themselves.

Ondo State is bigger than any cabals, when Emefele started to put the whole country into stagnation and jeopardy by disrespected the Supreme Court Order on the currency redesign, he thought he was too powerful to disregard the law, he thought he could do and undo, but forgot that power is transient.

Today, Emefiele is in captivity, putting his family in a serious and psychological pain and agony.

"In no distant time, I am quite sure that none of these people so called 'cabals' will scale through the wrath of law for the serious pain they have caused for the good people of Ondo State".

  1. They should both arrest for contempt of court and at the same time, the security agents not Amotekun should go to all local government council including the abracadabra LCDAs and arrest the illegal caretaker committees.
