An Estate Agent, Olaosebian Abdullahi, 43, was on Wednesday docked in a Grade ‘A’ Customary Court, Ibadan, over an alleged N1 million land fraud.

The police charged Abdullahi with obtaining money under false pretence, stealing and conduct likely to cause the breach of peace.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Prosecutor, Mr Philip Amusan, told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence on Jan. 25, at about 10.00 a.m, at Apete area of Ibadan.

Amusan alleged that the defendant fraudulently obtained the sum of N1 million from one Ishola Usman with the pretext of selling a plot of land to him at Apete Area.

He alleged that the defendant instead converted the money to his personal use.

Amusan said the defendant committed an offence contrary to Sections 419, 390(9) and 249(d) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Court President, Mrs Sukurat Yusuf, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1 million and two sureties in like sum.

She, thereafter, adjourned the case until June 7 for hearing. (NAN)
