Religious tolerance, an antidote to Bigotry, says Ondo state coord

The NYSC Ondo State Coordinator, Mr. Samuel Amaramiro Pepple has stated that people who believe in God should promote religious tolerance among their neighbours and others who profess another religion, as a way to fight against or prevent bigotry.

The State Coordinator made this entreaty when he joined the Muslim Faithfuls under the aegis of Muslim Corpers Association of Nigeria (MCAN) to observe the Jumat prayers at the Camp Mosque.

Pepple, admonished them to exhibit the character of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) who, despite the challenges he faced expressed love to all the people he came in contact with during his impactful life.

"My dear children, I wish to reiterate here that Islam is a religion of peace and I want to enjoin you to live in peace with your colleagues here on camp and people you will meet at your various host communities where you will spend the next eleven months. Let your conduct exemplify the life of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) who showed love to all and sundry ".

The NYSC Ondo State helmsman said that the corps members should genuinely love one another and strive not to see people of other faiths as infidels but brothers and sisters who are serving the same Omnipotent and Merciful God.

The State Coordinator enjoined them to study the Quran and Hadith as reference and divine books, which he said would lead them on the path to righteousness and piety.

The Corps Members were excited to see the State Coordinator coming around to identify with and inspire the them on how to live a life that would impact the society towards promotion of unity and integration the National Youth Service Corps stood for.

The Amir who spoke on behalf of the Muslim Corps Members appreciated the State Coordinator for his fatherly role and equal treatment he has given to all the religious bodies on camp.
