The Brigade Commander, 32 Artillery Brigade, Owena Cantonment, Akure, Brigadier General John Rimbut Lar, DSS, fdc, PhD has assured the corps members deployed to, and serving in Ondo State that their security is guaranteed as far as the Sunshine State is concerned.

The Brigade Commander gave the assurance when he addressed 2024 Batch 'B' (Stream 1) corps members undergoing orientation course at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ikare-Akoko.

Lar, who has attended all courses commensurate to his rank both within and outside the country, asserted that the Nigerian Army has security arrangement in place and has been providing security for members of the service corps since it was established over five decades ago.

The one star General, who had his doctorate degree in Leadership and Strategic Studies from the Nigerian Defence Academy Postgraduate School charged the corps members to be law abiding and discharge their duties faithfully to the best of their knowledge.

The one-time Brigade Commander, Sector 3 Artillery Brigade, Mongunu in Borno State, enjoined the corps members to be conscious of their security at all times, urging them to report promptly any threat to lives and properties to security agencies around them.

According to the General, whose area of jurisdiction covers Ondo and Ekiti states, the security architecture put in place by his command is adequate and topnotch.

The Security Chief, who is a member of Diplomatic Forum, wished the corps participants the best of the service year while reminding them to promote the unity and integration of the country as spelt out in the objectives of the NYSC Scheme.

In his welcome address, the State Coordinator, Mr. Sam Amaramiro Pepple informed his guest that collaboration and synergy among the security agencies and NYSC has ensured adequate security cover for the entire camp community, especially for the corps members majority of whom are visiting the state for the first time.

The State Coordinator, beaming with smiles told the corps members that the Brigade Commander's visit was a confirmation of his statement during the briefing exercise that he visited security chiefs in the state and pleaded their support for the Scheme, and most importantly, the corps members serving in all the nooks and crannies of the Sunshine State.

Pepple equally told the corps members that the Nigerian Army, just like any other members of the Nigerian Armed Forces, places premium on the patriotic graduate youths who obeyed the clarion call to serve the fatherland.

The highlight of the private visit was a cultural display by the selected representatives of the corps members as well as parade and military salutes incorporated into the colourful event by the NYSC Parade and Musical Band.
