Aiyedatiwa Aide, Akinrotoye Pledges stronger support for Sports Council






Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Ondo State on sports ,Hon. Kehinde Akinrotoye (popularly known as Bonsue), has assured the management of the Ondo State Sports Council of the continued support of the present administration.

Akinrotoye said Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa is a sports-loving leader who remains committed to developing the sector.

The SSA, who was accompanied by a member of the State Football Agency management committee, Pastor Segun Joseph, gave the assurance during a familiarisation visit to the Ondo State Sports Council in Akure, the state capital, on Monday.

He urged the council’s management to roll up their sleeves and work harder than ever before to restore the state’s lost glory in sports.

According to him, “The government is aware of the challenges facing the council, but I can assure you that they will be fixed one after the other.

" We all know the state of our stadium a few months ago, but today it has received a facelift.

"The hockey pitch, basketball, volleyball, and abula courts at the car park will soon be completed.”

Akinrotoye further promised to collaborate with stakeholders to brief the governor on areas requiring urgent attention.

He added that athletes’ welfare would also be prioritised to enable them to perform at their best.

In his response, the General Manager of the Ondo State Sports Council, Mr. Sunday Fagite, congratulated  Akinrotoye on his appointment and assured him of the council’s commitment to sports development in the state.
 
“We are happy to welcome you to the Ondo State Sports Council.

"We appeal to you to assist us in ensuring that our Governor is well informed about the true situation of sports development in the state,” Fagite said.
