Afrobeats superstar Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, has announced he will formally join the Accord Party, following his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke's, recent move to the party.
The singer made the announcement on his verified X handle on Tuesday, stating he'll be in Osogbo, Osun State capital, on Wednesday to collect his membership card.
"I Will be live in Osun to pick up my @AccordPartyNG membership card @ IMOLE HOUSE OSOGBO Tomorrow… see you soon ACCORDINGLY 😇 Cc @AAdeleke_01," Davido wrote
This development comes about two weeks after Governor Adeleke officially unveiled the Accord Party as his new political platform ahead of the 2026 Osun State governorship election. Adeleke had cited a leadership crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a reason for his defection
