OSOPADEC Chair, Poroye Applauds Tinubu, Congratulates Jimoh Ibrahim, Sola Iji on Ambassadorial Appointments






The Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Prince Olabiyi Olaleye Poroye, has congratulated Senator Jimoh Ibrahim and Ambassador Sola Iji on their recent ambassadorial appointments by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, 

He described the development as a reflection of merit-based leadership and recognition of excellence in national service.

Poroye, in a congratulatory message personally signed and made available to Newsline NG , said the appointments of the two distinguished sons of Ondo State were well deserved, noting that their elevation to such prestigious positions was a testament to their years of dedication, leadership, and contributions to national development.

The OSOPADEC chairman particularly commended Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, whom he fondly described as “Africa,” for his remarkable intellect and vast knowledge. 


According to him, Ibrahim’s new diplomatic role is a confirmation of his longstanding belief that the former senator possesses the capacity to represent not only Nigeria but also the African continent effectively on the global stage.


Poroye expressed confidence that Ibrahim would bring distinction, insight, and excellence to his new assignment, adding that his wealth of experience in governance, business, and international affairs would greatly benefit Nigeria’s diplomatic engagements.


He also congratulated Ambassador Sola Iji, a respected political leader in Ondo State, noting that his appointment was both inspiring and well merited. 


Poroye recalled the popular phrase “Amen Somebody,” which he often uses in greeting Iji at political gatherings, describing it as a symbol of faith, optimism, and perseverance that has defined the ambassador’s journey in public service.


The OSOPADEC boss said the phrase had now taken on a deeper meaning with the ambassadorial appointment, adding that the moment was indeed one worthy of celebration among political associates and well-wishers.


Poroye further used the opportunity to commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as merit-driven leadership in the selection of capable Nigerians for diplomatic assignments, stressing that such decisions strengthen the nation’s global representation.


He noted that the appointments of Jimoh Ibrahim and Sola Iji have brought pride not only to Ondo State but also to Nigeria as a whole, expressing optimism that both men would discharge their responsibilities with diligence and patriotism.


The OSOPADEC chairman concluded by wishing the newly appointed ambassadors wisdom, strength, and success as they take on the important national task of representing Nigeria and advancing the country’s interests on the international stage.
