Princess Oluseyi Odusola Bows Out as Retirement Ceremony Holds Tuesday

All is set in Akure, the Ondo State capital, for the retirement ceremony in honour of Bishop Princess Odusola Oluseyi Oluwakemi, the current Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, as she prepares to bow out of active public service.

Newsline NG learnt that the event, popularly described as a “pendown ceremony,” is being organized to celebrate her years of dedicated service, impactful leadership, and notable contributions to the development of women and vulnerable groups across the state.

According to an official invitation made available to Newsline NG, the ceremony is scheduled to hold on April 9, 2026, at the premises of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development in Akure. The programme is expected to commence at 10:00 a.m.

"Dignitaries from various sectors, including top government functionaries, religious leaders, civil society organizations, and well-wishers, are expected to attend the event in large numbers to honour the outgoing Permanent Secretary.

Newsline NG gathered that Bishop Princess Odusola Oluseyi Oluwakemi is widely regarded as a committed public servant who successfully combined her administrative responsibilities with her spiritual calling, earning her respect across different segments of society.

During her tenure, she championed several initiatives focused on women empowerment, protection of children’s rights, and the strengthening of social welfare systems for vulnerable populations in Ondo State.

Colleagues within the ministry who spoke with our correspondent described her as a visionary and disciplined leader whose policies and programmes have left a lasting impact, particularly among grassroots communities.
