In a colourful and culturally rich ceremony, Akindimeji Akinyemi has been officially installed as the High Chief Sasere of Ayesan Kingdom in Ifesowapo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The installation, which attracted dignitaries from across the state and beyond, was marked by traditional rites, music, and displays of Yoruba cultural heritage.
Community leaders, traditional rulers, political figures, and well-wishers gathered to witness the historic event, which is seen as a significant step toward strengthening leadership and unity within the kingdom.
Speaking during the ceremony, the presiding traditional authority of Ayesan Kingdom described the emergence of High Chief Akinyemi as timely, noting that his leadership qualities, integrity, and commitment to community development made him a worthy choice for the revered title.
He charged the newly installed chief to uphold the customs and traditions of the land while working tirelessly for peace, progress, and cohesion among the people.
In his acceptance speech, High Chief Akindimeji Akinyemi expressed deep gratitude to the royal fathers, and the entire Ayesan community for the honour bestowed upon him.
He pledged to serve with humility, dedication, and fairness, promising to prioritize development initiatives, youth empowerment, and the preservation of cultural values.
“I am deeply honoured by this responsibility. I see this not just as a title, but as a call to service. I will work closely with all stakeholders to promote unity, peace, and sustainable development in Ayesan Kingdom
The event featured traditional drumming, cultural dances, and the symbolic presentation of staff and regalia, signifying his authority and responsibilities as High Chief Sasere.

Residents of the community expressed optimism that the new High Chief would bring positive transformation and foster stronger collaboration among various groups within the kingdom.
