Ekiti 2026: Engr Kayode Ojo declares Governorship ambition Amidst Party Drama

Image
By Our Correspondent  Engineer Kayode Ojo has formally declared his intention to contest the 2026 governorship election in Ekiti State, amidst a dramatic boycott by key APC leaders and executives. It was   gathered that thousands of supporters gathered at the APC State Secretariat in Ajilosun, Ado-Ekiti, chanting solidarity songs and pledging support for Ojo's ambition. Despite the absence of top APC officials, Ojo described the turnout as "a sign of genuine love and people's desire for change". “I am not surprised or bothered by the absence of some leaders. What matters most to me is the overwhelming support of ordinary party members and the people of Ekiti. They are the ones who will vote,” Ojo declared to loud applause. “Despite the government’s attempt to frustrate us with road blockages and restriction of taxis and motorcycles, our people still came out in large numbers. This show of solidarity strengthens my belief that victory is certain.” Ojo while...

Ajilo Support Group Rejects "Kangaroo" Rotational Agenda

Image
AJILO SUPPORT GROUP RE: ONDO EAST GROUP DECLARATION OF ROTATIONAL ONDO EAST/WEST REPS SEAT The attention of Ajilo Support Group has been drawn to a resolution purportedly emanating from an All Progressives Congress (APC) group meeting held at Bolorunduro, wherein a call was made for a rotational arrangement for the House of Representatives seat in favour of Ondo East Local Government.  This call is being made under the false narrative of the marginalisation of Ondo East in the representation of the Ondo East/West Federal Constituency since 1999. As a responsible political movement in APC, 'Ajilo Support Group' cannot afford to ignore this misleading narrative, especially as it is clearly designed to hoodwink the innocent and well-meaning people of Ondo State into believing that this agenda is just and equitable. Far from it. The following data clearly shows the equitable distribution of representation between Ondo East and Ondo West since 1999: 1. Hon. Dejo Akinnifesi (1999 - 2...

Ekiti Primary: Engr Kayode Ojo raises alarm over alleged sabotage

Image
The Engineer Kayode Ojo Campaign Organization has lodged a formal protest with the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), rejecting the provisional clearance granted to its principal, Engr. Kayode Ojo, by the Ekiti State Governorship Screening Committee. In a petition addressed to the APC National Chairman and copied to other key party officials, the campaign organization described the committee’s finding—that Ojo failed to secure the mandatory five valid nominators per local government—as “baseless” and “founded on a fraudulent party register.” The group insisted that Engr. Ojo fully complied with Article 9(1) of the APC Constitution and Paragraph 6(c) of the party’s Guidelines for Nomination of Candidates. It further presented affidavits and membership slips of Ojo’s nominators, whom it described as registered, financially up-to-date members of the APC. According to the petition, the nominators include immediate past members of the Ekiti State House ...

Ekiti 2026: Engr. Kayode Ojo slams Baseless Petition

Image
Re: Unfounded Petition Against Engr. Kayode Ojo Before the APC Screening Committee The attention of the Engr. Kayode Ojo Campaign Organisation has been drawn to a widely circulated news report regarding a frivolous petition filed by a group masquerading as "concerned stakeholders." We wish to state categorically that the allegations of disloyalty and anti-party activities are utterly baseless, unfounded, and a mere child's play by a desperate losing team who have run out of viable ideas to compete in the political arena but left with mean tactics It is both laughable and pathetic that the sponsors of this petition, who are clearly acting on the behalf of the Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) camp, have resorted to scavenging for old photographs of Engr. Kayode Ojo with former chieftains of the party, which they are now misrepresenting as evidence of wrongdoing, anti party and alliance with oppositions. This is the height of political desperation and a clear indication of thei...

Nobody can disenfranchise Ife Ehindero --- Support group declares

Image
PRESS STATEMENT  We read with dismay, a write up fabricated by some purveyors of wrong narratives with the intention to mislead and discourage the staunch supporters of our leading Aspirant, Hon. Ife Ehindero. The statement was deliberately tailored to wrongly echo to the public that Ehindero cannot participate in the  By-election for Akoko North East and North West Federal Constituency vacant seat in the House of Representatives . The write-up obviously short of accurate information also claimed that seven aspirants jostling for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket had joined forces with one Hon. Olumide Araoyinbo, stating literally that some party leaders have dropped Ife Ehindero for Araoyinbo and that Ife Ehindero cannot exercise his franchise basically because he is from the same Constituency with the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.  For the purpose of clarity for the general public, Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, who had earlier won the Reps Seat, is from Ako...

Image
. .. Seeks intervention from security agencies The Commissioner of police and the Director of Department of Secret Service in Ondo state have been called upon to call to order the secretary to the state government, Princess Oladunni Odu who is allegedly mobilising some women across the state to hold a sponsored solidarity protest in support of the planned but stalled impeachment of the deputy governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa . One of the foremost political leaders in Ondo state politics, Mrs. Ojune Mabayomije, President Ondo South Women Progressives forum raised that alarm that the SSG, Oladunni Odu has made available fund to mobilise women as a pressure group to give credence to the ill concieved impeachment move of the state house of assembly as instigated by some cabal in the political caucus of the governor of the state, Rotimi Akeredolu. Aiyedatiwa is equipped with team of valuable, intelligent and strategic individuals, not camp, Alabi blasts characterless and faceless group

Image
* AIYEDATIWA: INJURY TO ONE IS INJURY TO ALL. * I read an article published on Nairaland by a faceless group, where it was alleged that there is crisis in the camp of the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, H. E. Lucky Aiyedatiwa. Unfortunately, Aiyedatiwa does not have a camp but a team of valuable, intelligent and strategic individuals who are not after money but who see injustice as an ailment that needs to be fought seriously. It was alleged that Aiyedatiwa is angry with Prince Poroye Biyi who is the coordinator of the Aiyedatiwa team, about how monies meant for legal processes have been hiked to allow Poroye get kickback. It is indeed laughable and a sign of defeat. As I write now, Prince Poroye is busy eating and winning together in Abuja. On a more serious note, Prince Poroye, apart from being a strategist is a man of high integrity who fights not for money but for justice. Since these faceless guys don’t know history, they should ask Mimiko, Jimoh Ibrahim and Akeredolu. In 2016...

Image
.. .... says Aiyedatiwa and his followers are laws abiding citizens The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, H. E. Lucky Aiyedatiwa and his allies read with dismay, the allegations by a faceless group called Arise For Change and Good Governance that Aiyedatiwa and his allies are planning to cause mayhem and distabilize Ondo State. We hereby wish to state categorically that Lucky Aiyedatiwa and his followers across Ondo State and beyond are peace loving people who believe in the rule of law. It’s not possible for us to be in court and still be fighting on the streets.  It’s either that we are fighting or that we go to court. But as for us, we have chosen to go the way of the law. Akure is our land, the people living there are our people, and we can’t be fighting our own people. We have never mentioned anywhere of any plan to fight anybody. All that we have been propagating is that those involved in the impeachment plan should respect the rule of the law by obeying court order(s). It is...
