Suspected hoodlums at the early hours of today vandalised a Toyota Hiace bus belonging to the Students' Union Government of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba-Akoko. It was learnt that the incident happened along Ogbese road in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.   A video of the incident obtained by our correspondent showed that the rear glass of the vehicle was smashed by the attackers. A source told our correspondent that “the students were on their way to Akure when one Okada rider bashed the bus and he was  confronted for hitting the bus but he was said to have slapped one of the students” “His action infuriated the students which later caused uproar in Ogbese”, the source said.  When contacted, the President of the Union, Ogunsanmi Kolade confirmed the incident.  He alleged that the hoodlums mangled the bus in defense of the motorcyclist. The students stormed the major highway at the main entrance of the Institution, chanting different solidarity songs and clutching placards with various inscriptions such as— “Revitalize our Education” “End ASUU Strike” “Save our future”. The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Ondo State Governnor on Agric and Agricbusiness, Pastor Akin Olotu has said the state government has concluded plans to encourage more youths into Agriculture and discourage the scourge of ritual killings. Olotu, stated this at his office on Thursday in  Akure when the executives of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ),Ondo State Council, paid him a courtesy visit. Olotu said he had met with the leadership of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) on  the spate of ritual killings, urging media organisations to begin a form of advocacy on the issue in churches and media organisations.
