Impeachment: Oyo Deputy Governor reacts

By Chidinma Ewunonu-Aluko, Ibadan The Oyo State Deputy Governor, Rauf Olaniyan has said that the investigation by the committee set up by the Oyo state Chief Judge, Justice Munta Abimbola, is a charade that can not stand the test of time.  Olaniyan made the remark on Monday through his counsel, Afolabi Fashanu (SAN), while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Ibadan over his impeachment. NAN reports that the Oyo State House of Assembly had on Monday morning impeached the deputy governor following adoption of the recommendations of the report of the seven-man panel set up by Abimbola. NAN recalled that Abimbola had on Friday constituted a seven-man panel to investigate the allegations levelled against the deputy governor by the state House of Assembly. Two died in Odigbo road crash --- FRSC

By Our correspondent Contrary to some online news used in the new media, the Federal road safety corps has said two persons died in a fatal road accident that occurred at Asewele community in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.  The Ore Unit Commander, Mr Sikiru Alonge made this known while speaking with Newsmen in a phone call over the weekend He said “Seven persons; two female and five male, in two vehicles, were involved in the accident and not eight persons died as it was used in some online media "A female died immediately, while a male died later at the hospital. He said Our correspondent gathered that the crash involved a Toyota Previa Bus heading towards Ore axis and a truck van conveying cows coming from Odigbo axis of the road. An eyewitness recount that the accident was caused by over speeding around a sharp corner of the road. Adeleke defeats Oyetola In Osun Governorship Election

  Senator Ademola Adeleke, has won the governorship election of Osun State . Adeleke, PDP’s candidate in the election beat Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the ruling All Progressives Congress with 402,979 votes to 375,077 votes. Adeleke won in 17 local government areas, while, Governor Oyetola won in 13 local government areas. The 2022 Osun governorship election took place in all the 30 local government areas of the state with 3,763 polling units and 332 registration areas.

Special Olympics Nigeria, SeamlessHR officially Launch Codeable in Lagos

Special Olympics Nigeria, in partnership with SeamlessHR has launched a new training program tagged “Codeable” to empower vulnerable youth with and without intellectual disabilities with technology skills, increasing their access to opportunities that enhance independence. Speaking during the launch event, Adeola Oladugba, Special Olympics Nigeria Sports manager, explained that the partnership was born out of the need to include the vulnerable youth, especially those with intellectual disabilities, on new possibilities and opportunities asides sports which would enable them to acquire competitive skills as they grow older and get fair opportunities like everyone.  The partnership which is the first of its kind is set to train over a hundred youths in the next three years, through two cohorts yearly.  The plan is to expand this initiative across the world and encourage other tech firms to embrace it, while we also offer internship placements to the best performing students at t...

Olaniyan made the remarks on Thursday through his Counsel, Afolabi Fashanu (SAN), in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan. NAN recalled that Abimbola had on Friday constituted a seven-man panel to investigate the allegations levelled against the deputy governor by the state House of Assembly. The House in June directed Abimbola to constitute a panel to investigate Olaniyan.
