The former two term federal legislator Hon Joseph Iranola Akinlaja said PDP would have a huge problem if Wike refuses to support the party.   He stated this during a press briefing in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Akinlaja said Atiku should have personally visited Wike and other aspirants to forge a united front ahead of the 2023 general election. An unidentified man has been electrocuted while trying to steal transformer cables in Osogbo, the capital of Osun state  Report said, the incident happened around 4:00 pm on Monday at Onward, Golf area of the state capital, Osogbo  A resident of the area, Olu Adebayo said  that the man who was electrocuted was trying to remove some cables from the transformer. He said a close look at the deceased shows that he was one of those scavengers who relied on picking electrical components to sell for survival. He said nearby residents reported that they heard the sound of an electrical spark and also heard the scream of the man before he died. Adebayo also said the suspect was found hanging dead on the transformer. It was also gathered that the attempt by the man was not the first time as several efforts have been made to vandalize the transformer in the area. Equitynews

A renowned Professor of Yoruba Literature of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Oluyemisi Adebowale, has been admitted to the College of Fellows of the Nigerian Academy of Letters (NAL). The Fellowship was conferred on her and five others on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at the 24th Convocation and Investiture of NAL held in the University of Lagos. The Fellows of the Nigerian Academy of Letters are a group of distinguished scholars of the humanities, nominated and elected in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the humanistic scholarship. Aladekugbe was inaugurated as the bishop of Ibadan North following the retirement of the former Diocesan, Archbishop, Dr Segun Okubadejo in May.
