President Tinubu dissolves Boards of Parastatals, Agencies, Institutions

PRESS RELEASE President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has approved the immediate dissolution of the Governing Boards of all Federal Government Parastatals, Agencies, Institutions, and Government-Owned Companies in the exercise of its Constitutional Powers and in the Public interest. The dissolution does not, however, affect Boards, Commissions and Councils listed in the Third Schedule, Part 1, Section 153 (i) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended. In view of this development and until such a time new boards are constituted, the Chief Executive Officers of the Parastatals, Agencies, Institutions, and Government-Owned Companies are directed to refer matters requiring the attention of their Boards to the President, through the Permanent Secretaries of their respective supervisory Ministries and Offices. Permanent Secretaries are directed, also, to route such correspondences to Mr President through the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation....

Nigeria’s Super Eagles on Sunday in Monrovia Liberia secured its qualification ticket to the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire at the expense of Sierra Leone. Playing at the SKD stadium in Liberia, the first half proved too difficult for the Leone Stars as they struggled to cope with the attacking threat of Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze. It was the Napoli striker that broke the deadlock in the 19th minute and quickly made it 2-0 for Nigeria after a few minutes. Mustapha Bundu reduced the scoreline for the host in the 41st minute and Nigeria ended the half in the driving seat. AAUA: Your Eligibility as a student rely on payment of school fee --- VC tells students

By Adesewa Ogunfidodo, Akungba The Vice-Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin  University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), Professor Olugbenga Ige has disclosed that students admitted for the 2022/2033 academic session and have not paid their school fees or registered are no longer students of the institution.  Professor Ige stated this in an interview with newsmen shortly after the institution's matriculation ceremony held on Friday, June 16, 2023, at the Olusegun Obasanjo Multipurpose Hall, OBJ. According to the VC, it is the responsibility of the University to bring new students into the institution via due process. He further stressed that the 'No Registration; No Admission has been declared since 2021, hence, anyone who has not paid school fees or completed their registration is not qualified to be a bonafide student of the institution, which will lead to termination of their admission.
