By Chidinma Ewunonu-Aluko, Ibadan   No fewer than 3,000 people are receiving free eye treatments at the Adeayo State Hospital, Ring-Road, Ibadan . The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the programme, tagged: “Free mobile eye camp” was sponsored by Al-Basar International Foundation, Saudi Arabia and locally organised by Organisation of Tadhoomunul Muslimeen, Nigeria. The Programme Coordinator, Sheikh Isa Akindele, told NAN that the free eye treatment started 30 years ago in the state, with the state government providing hospital facilities to assist. “It is free; we distribute free glasses and do surgeries for those that are necessary,” Akindele said. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the project was also to protect the cultural food heritage of Ikale communities ranging from yam, plantain, cassava, flours and other local food items. Mr Bolade Akinseloyin, Convener of the group, while presenting the money, at Stallamaris College, Okitipupa, on Wednesday said the project was to boost food production amid food crisis. He said the project would also to encourage Ikale indigenes to consume local food items to preserve cultural heritage of the community. Taiwo made the remark in Ibadan at the inauguration of her foundation called “Twenty-One Five Child Foundation (T1FF). She also urged teenage pregnant girls to be outspoken and courageous in spite of all odds. “They should not abandon their babies or be despair, people like us are here to support them even if they want to take legal action. “Parents and religious leaders should not give up on them; they can still fulfill destiny. Kogi indigenes and concerned Nigerians gathered under the banner of the "Alliance For Emancipation and True Change" to stage a peaceful protest in the United Kingdom, calling on President Bola Tinubu to intervene and ensure the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) remains impartial and free from political interference. The management of Adamimogo FM, has announced that Adamimogo FM in Ido-Ekiti will be switching frequencies from 107.1FM to 107.7FM effective Monday, May 20, 2024. In a statement released late Saturday evening, the Group Chief Operating Officer of Adamimogo Communications Limited, Mr. Babatunde Bamigboye Omo Edema, stated that the change in frequency will enable listeners to enjoy an uninterrupted, high-quality audio transmission. According to Bamigboye, the move to 107.7FM will provide a crystal-clear listening experience, free from interference. Listeners in Ekiti and environs were urged to keep following the radio station for quality programming and content offered by Adamimogo FM. A group of farmers in Ajue, Odigbo Local Government of Ondo State, have  disassociated themselves from any form of conflict between them and the state government  They made the appeal during a meeting held at the town hall in Ajue community, denied engaging in a media war with the state government over the selling of OA3 and OA2 Oluwa forest reserve to an Agro Processing company. The farmers said that SAO Agro-Services and the state government have been friendly with the farmers in the five communities on the farmland. The communities included Abana, Olorunsogo, Tale, Tiamiyu, and Orore where the concerned farmers are settled. The coalition of farmers in the OA3 and OA2 Oluwa forest reserve Ajue community pleaded to the government not to leave them behind, as the community is still part of the state.
