Aiyedatiwa assures Farmers of support

The Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has pledged his administration’s full support and collaboration with the Benin-Owena River Basin Development Authority (BORBDA) to boost agricultural production, enhance water resource management, and promote youth involvement in agribusiness across the state. The Governor made the commitment on Tuesday while receiving the management team of BORBDA, led by its Managing Director, Dr. Olufemi Adekanmbi, during a courtesy visit to his office in Akure. Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed optimism that the new management team of the agency would make a significant difference. He noted that although the original objectives of establishing River Basin Authorities have not been fully achieved, their continued existence remains vital to rural development and national food security. Understanding your originality is key to finding purpose – Psychiatrist urges boys

Abdulmalik gave the charge in a lecture organised by Twenty-One Five Child Foundation (TIFF) to celebrate the 2025 International Day of the Boy Child in Ibadan on Friday. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the 2025 theme of the day is “Building Self-Esteem in Boys: Stand up, Be Heard, Be Seen”. He made the call on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, while delivering the 39th Inaugural Lecture of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko. The lecture was titled, The Chemistry Beat: Harnessing Benign Reactions for Water Purification. Palpable tension has gripped residents of Irele town, the headquarters of Irele Local Government area of Ondo State, following the alarm raised over the sudden disappearance of a two-month-old baby in the community on Tuesday. The incident, which occurred in the Gbeleju area of the community, has thrown the entire area into serious tension after the baby’s father raised an alarm early in the day over the whereabouts of his two-month-old baby boy. The matter, which is currently being handled by operatives of the Ondo State Security Network, codenamed Amotekun Corps, comes just eight days after a young girl was allegedly murdered by her landlord’s son in the same community. According to a source close to the Security Network in Ode-Irele, the complaint about the incident was lodged at their office by the baby’s father at about 10:00 p.m. on Monday.
