Lagelu CDS: SAED boss visits corps members, harps on the importance of SAED in Nysc

The Head of Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED), under the platform of National Youth Service Corps(NYSC) in Oyo State, Mrs Ojo has admonished corps members to partake in skill acquisition programme as initiated by the body, (NYSC)

She made this call while addressing Corps members on the importance of SAED in Nysc, today at Community Development Service held at Lagelu local government area of Oyo State

She noted that SAED is for everybody, and it is purposely initiated to create wealth, and it is very necessary for corps members to partake 

"All over the world, it is an incontrovertible fact that there are unemployment especially in Nigeria, people running away from Nigeria to oversea, thinking things will be better, i will confess to you that, it won't be better, because whatever they are doing there, is what they've learn here in Nigeria. 

"Truly, our leaders doesn't give us everything we need, but we have to fight for ourselves. 


"It is time for you all to wake up from your slumber and decide to do something during your service year, 

"The fact still remains that, there are good jobs out there, but nevertheless, you must have an alternative job at hand as a Corp member, and that is why SAED is introduced in Nysc Scheme. 

In the same vein, an official from Nysc Secretariat, Mr Falaye also urge corps members to partake in SAED programme so as to add value to themselves. 




"In Nysc, SAED is the only programme that will enable to add value to yourself, and anything you learn here is going to be with you, and is what you will use to sustain your life"

"You have to engage in SAED, if at all you are doing CDS, because CDS is known for developing your host communities, while SAED is known for developing yourself and that is your gain in Nysc"



Also, Mrs Adedeji further admonished corps members to work on themselves, by learning a skill, build on the learnt skill and making use of the learnt skill. 

Speaking earlier, The local government inspector, Lagelu local government area of Oyo State, Mrs Adenike Abdulkarim harps on the need to be skillful as a Corp member.

"The more you are serious about it, the more you get it right, and Nobody can force you, but we are just encouraging you, but if you don't encourage yourself, then, it is left for you, make hay when the sun shine"

She however urged the corps members especially Batch A, to always dress properly while coming for CDS and also implore them not to be coming to the local government while boarding a bike 

"Don't take a bike when coming to the local government every Thursday, it is very risky, pls i beg you", she said
