2023 polls: Group rallies support for Major Hamzat Al Mustapha in Ondo





The support base for the candidate of Major Hamzat Al Mustapha, (rtd) as the Action Alliance (AA) flag bearer during the 2023 presidential election, yesterday received more boost in Akure, the Ondo State capital, following the public declaration of support by a group in the area.

The group under the aegis of Agbajowo Advocacy For Yoruba People's Right (AAYPR) consists of various age groups including artisans, market women, youths and students embarked on a possession from the center of the town in a branded T-shirt  chanting various solidarity songs in support of the AA candidate during the election.

As a result of the possession, no fewer than 800 members from the People's Democratic Party (PDP)  and Social Democratic Party (SDP) from various parts of the State,  dumped their parties and joined the group.

In there separate remarks  at the occasion, the National President of the group and Secretary, Otunba Muyideen Olamoyegun and Comrade Bolawa Akindolie,  respectively, said the decision of the group to organised the programme was aimed towards ensuring the success of the former military junta during the 2023 presidential election. 

The duo explained that members of the group spread across Ondo and Ekiti States, decided to declare their supports for Al Mustapha was targeted towards achieving the dream of the former Chief Security Officer (CSO) at tackling poverty from the country. 

The group described the former CSO as a visionary leader, whose impact in the act of governance during military era would remain indelible forever, called on the people of Ondo and Ekiti States to support the group at ensuring the success of the AA in the forthcoming election.

The group who reiterated the readiness of their members to maintain law and orders before, during and after the election, described the AA candidate as an embodiment of knowledge,  
explained that if voted in into power he would not disappoint the people of the country.

Also speaking another member of the group, who gave his name as Mr Isaiah Adegalu, said members of the group numbering about 12,000 and cut across all Yoruba speaking States were out to ensure the success of the AA during the conduct of the election.

While welcoming new members who joined the group during the possession, also congratulated them for being part of the history of transforming Nigeria.
