It was an atmosphere filled with jubilation in Ekiti state as the Vice Chancellor, Federal University, Oye Ekiti, Professor Sunday Abayomi Fasina commissioned numerous projects on Thursday.
The commissioned projects included; Lecture Theater hall for the Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy Laboratory, Faculty of Education 100 Lecture Capacity Theatre, 250 twin Lecture Theathe tre for Faculty of Science, Student Union Bulding, Freedom Relaxation Park among others.
Newsline NG learnt that the commissioning was done in commemoration of the Vice Chancellor's two year in office and in celebration of the 7th Convocation ceremony of the university.
Speaking at the epoch making event, The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abayomi Sunday Fasina said his administration had worked assiduously to achieve the numerous infrastructures commissioned
Fasina while speaking on the Faculty of Pharmacy laboratory urged the staff and students of the Faculty to make use of the equipment judiciously, adding that the Faculty should start on how to produce drugs.
"For us to do more, you have to take good care of this equipment, this is the best way to get more in this Faculty he said
"FUOYE will soon have a Professor of Practice and Professor of Diaspora which means, we can have people like a legal luminary, Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, come to teach in FUOYE and many more.
Speaking about the new SUG building, Prof. Fasina advised the students to be law abiding and always allow peace to reign on campus.
Our correspondent who was at the event gathered that the Vice-Chancellor and his team continued the commissioning of the various projects at Ire Ekiti and Ikole Campus.
Some of commissioned project included, Part studies Library, Ire Ekiti, Foundation laying of Ultra Modern JAMB CBT Center and 18 Seaters Bus for the Directorate of Part studies, Central Library for Ikole campus, Part Studies Lecture Hall built by Mr. Filani for the University.
The entourage of the Vice Chancellor who graced the occasion included; the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration) Prof. Jeremiah Shola Omotola, Deputy Vice-Chancellor( Academics), Professor Olubunmi Shittu, Chairman, Ceremonial Committee, Prof. Opoola, Ag.Director, Centre for Continuing Education, Dr. Leke Omolade.
