Ondo State coord to staff: Let's work together as a team

The NYSC Ondo State Coordinator, Mr. Samuel Amaramiro Pepple has stretched forth his hands of fellowship to his colleagues, imploring them to work together with him as a team.

The State Coordinator expressed this willingness when he presided over the all-encompassing general staff meeting at the NYSC Zonal Office, Akure the state capital.

Pepple, who hit the ground running after taking over the mantle of leadership of the Scheme in the Sunshine State said that human powers are the most important and essential part of any organisation, be it government agencies or corporate institutions.

"I am in high spirit to officially preside over the first meeting with the members of my family in Ondo State. You are all important and an integral part of this administration. You are so dear to me hence the need for us to rub minds together on how we would steer the ship so that it would not hit the rock".

The State Coordinator made it abundantly clear that the focus of his administration is principally on corps members' welfare and security and how best to maximise their potentials for the overall benefit and development of the country.

"My colleagues, we have come to the point of no return because the task of ensuring that members of the service corps take the service more seriously in line with the vision of the founding fathers rests solely on our collective shoulders and no one should act as a black sheep towards the attainment of our goals. Our mission is clear: to operate in line with the best practices in an atmosphere devoid of rancour, hatred, backbiting and indolence".

He continued, 'We are going to consolidate on the successes of my predecessor and break new grounds in the areas of Community Development Service CDS), Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme as well as reduce red tapism, bureaucracy and administrative bottlenecks associated with the Public Service. I am an officious person but we must adopt pragmatism and dynamism towards getting timely results'.

"I do not work on assumption or allegation, I want to make it crystal clear that anyone who soils his or her hand by engaging in any act capable of tarnishing the good name and reputation that the noble Scheme has built in the last 51 years will face the consequences of his or her action. We shall continue to lift high the banner of hope which NYSC represents. To be forewarned is to be forewarned".

The State Coordinator presented the Camp Director designate for the 2024 Batch 'A' (Stream II) orientation course, Mr. Ojo Jonathan Kolawole to the staff and urged them to support him so that success would be ascribed to everyone.
