Security sources reported that a group linked to the Aye Confraternity stormed the residence of Mr. Adewale Ademola Ojebiyi, the son-in-law of the deceased, It is believed that the family was the target of a targeted attack.
The attackers were believed to have intended to harm Mr. Adewale and his family members, Although Mr. Adewale and his family were absent during the attack, his father-in-law, Mathew Ademakinwa Fagbohun was the only one at home.
The father-in-law was reported to have been shot and died immediately,The source mentioned that they also went to his children's school, but the tight security at the school entrance prevented them from obtaining his children.
The reason some members of the Aye cult are after his life and the lives of his family members is because he refused to join their cult group.
They wanted him to assist them with money laundering activities for certain Nigerian politicians, which involved drug trafficking, human trafficking, and other fraudulent operations.
They targeted him because they knew he travelled frequently, and they were aware that he had recently returned from South Africa, where they had several drug syndicates.his first attacked happened in Abuja, where he sustained injuries, including razor-blade cuts on his hands.
Due to this attack, he had to move to Lagos to ensure his safety. After 2years in Lagos, the group traced him again and shot him in his right leg, but he managed to escape. After repeated attempts on his life, he decided to move again, this time to Ibadan, Oyo State, hoping to finally find safety.
He and his family lived peacefully there for some time until the attackers located him again and went to his house. Regrettably, he was not present at the time of the attack, but they met his father-in-law at the house where he was killed.
The police have asked members of the public who have valuable information to come forward and assist in the investigation, assuring all tips will be kept confidential.
