The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council has threatened to shut down the state owned Owena Press PLC (The Hope newspapers) over some obnoxious policies of the new Chairman/Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of the media outfit Mr Kayode Fasua. The leadership of Owena Press Staff Union (OPSU) has expressed disapproval of the planned picketing action against the Company by the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ondo State Council, scheduled for Monday, January 20, 2025 .  The OPSU condemns the planned action, stating that it was undertaken without proper consultation with the Management of Owena Press Ltd, publishers of The Hope titles, as it will only be unfair as the reasons adduced by the NUJ are completely one-sided.
