GOVERNOR MAKINDE DISSOLVES CABINET

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has announced the dissolution of the state’s Executive Council. Those affected include Chief of Staff (CoS) and 17 Commissioners. Newsline NG   gathered that the Cabinet was constituted on August 14, 2019, following Makinde’s historic victory in the March 9, 2019, election. The remaining Council members who were not affected include the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Head of Service (HOS) and the Director General of Due Process office. OAUSTECH: Union body appeals for hostel's completion

The President of Student Union Government (SUG) of Olusegun Agagu University of science and technology (OAUSTECH) Okitipupa, Ondo State,  Comrade Damilola Okunomo has called for proper housing system in the institution to put an end to the intimidation of students living in off campus. NYSC OYO HOLDS FREE MEDICAL OUTREACH

The NYSC Oyo State has flagged off a 4-day free Medical Outreach at Jobele town, Afijio Local Government Area. The Health initiative for Rural Dwellers (HIRD) program involves sensitization on disease prevention and medical care services, diagnosis and treatment of ailments. The Medical Outreach by Corps Medical Personnel since its inception in 2014 has been aimed at complementing the medical care services offered to the rural communities by the state and local government. Alledge: Man rapes 80-yr-old woman in Ondo

The Police in Ondo state have arrested one Emmanuel Joseph for allegedly raping an 80-year old woman in Ondo state. Emmanuel, aged 50, allegedly  gained entry into her room through a window at Lotogbe street, Ondo West Local Government Area, threatened her with a dagger and raped her. A source said the suspect entered the victim’s room with the pretence of collecting some herbs at the back of the house. The source who gave her name as Julianah Owolabi said it was the cry of the victim that attracted the attention of people who broke the door opened and caught the suspect naked. The immediate past Chairman/Editor -in- Chief of Owena Press Limited, publishers of The Hope titles, Mr Bode Betiku is dead. He died at the age of 69 during a brief illness. It was gathered that the late veteran journalist was hospitalised few days to his 69th birthday which came up June 3rd. The Governor of Oyo State, 'Seyi Makinde, on Thursday morning, condemned Wednesday's violence, which erupted in Iwo Road axis of Ibadan, the state capital. The governor, who toured the affected area, said that the government will bring perpetrators of the act to book.
