The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 27-year-old man of Railway Ijora Badia, for allegedly defiling a nine-month-old baby. The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest to the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos on Wednesday. Hundeyin said that the case was reported to the Police on Monday at about 10:00 pm by a concerned member of the public. He said that the suspect allegedly went to the apartment where the baby’s mother laid her on the floor, and quickly went to buy something outside the compound. A Lagos State High Court, sitting in Epe, has ordered the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sawo-Olu, should not install or recognize the Alaketu-elect, Adelaja Akeem, as a monarch in the Ketu area of the state. The court also ordered Akeem to stop parading himself as the traditional ruler of the Ketu town in Ikosi-Ejirin Local Council Development Area, Epe Local Government Area of the state. The All Progressives Congress, Kogi State chapter, has approved the suspension of a member of the National Working Committee of the party, Murtala Yakubu (Ajaka) by the executive members of Ajaka Ward 1 of the party.  Yakubu, who is the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the party, had been suspended by the entire executive members of APC, Ajaka Ward 1, Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area of Kogi State, in a letter dated March 20, over alleged anti-party activities, insubordination, gross misconduct, unguided statement, running parallel party structure and encouraging factionalism in the party.  Reacting to the action of the ward executives, the leadership of the party in the state, in a statement signed by the State Secretary, Hon. The Court of Appeal in Abuja on Thursday announced that judgment in the legal battle would be handed down for the two warring parties. The Court had on March 14 reserved judgments in three appeals and a cross-appeal filed on the dispute over the governorship election. A 3- man panel of Justices of the court led by Justice Mohammed Shuaibu, after taking the final arguments from lawyers to the parties had announced that Adeleke and Oyetola would be informed when the judgments are ready.
