Gov. Makinde felicitates corps members on successful camping, urges them on patriotism

The Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde has informed Corps members deployed to Oyo State and their counterparts dislodged from Lagos that their patriotism is key to the nation's development as it helps to build a strong working country. Makinde who was represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. NBA Ibadan branch raids 27 suspects over unethical conducts, illegal practices of law

By Chidinma Ewunonu-Aluko, Ibadan  The Nigerian Bar Association {NBA},Ibadan branch Anti-Touting And Ethics Committee, on Tuesday embarked on the raiding of those engaging in illegal practice of law, touting and unlawful preparation of legal documents. The News Agency of Nigeria {NAN} reports that among the courts in Ibadan metropolis raided by the committee were Iyaganku, Mapo, Gate and Iwo road courts and no fewer than 27 suspects were arrested by the committee and police. The  raid was led by NBA Ibadan’s Chairman, Mrs Folasade Aladeniyi, Secretary, Mr Olakunle Akintola, the Anti touting Committee’s chairman, Mr. Segun Popoola among others. Among those caught by the  Anti touting committee were road side typists doing  land agreements and preparing other legal documents meant solely for lawyers, lawyers who are violating the ethics of the legal profession by engaging in ambulance chasing, touting at the Criminal  registry of Courts, fake lawyers among others....

Rugipo changed to Ondo State University, Owo

Rufus Giwa Polytechnic has been renamed as Ondo State University, Owo. This was announced by the Secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu at a meeting on Tuesday with stakeholders of the Polytechnic as well as High Chiefs from Owo and Isuada communities. The new University is expected to admit students during the 2024/2025 academic session. According to Precision Online Newspaper, the current Polytechnic education system will be co-exist with the new University structure until it is phased out. “The polytechnic Governing Council, management team, Deans of Faculties , High Chiefs representing, Owo, Isuada and Ondo State senior government officials headed by Oladuni Odu attended,” a source at the meeting told Precision Online Newspaper.

Ani addresses Ondo corps members, harps on CDS projects

The State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps in Ondo State, Mrs. Victoria Nnenna Ani has charged corps members to undertake personal and group Community Development Service (CDS) projects that will help to uplift the living standard of people in the society. The State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps in Ondo State, Mrs. Victoria Nnenna Ani has charged corps members to ensure that their service has huge impact on the society. The State Coordinator made the charge while debriefing the 2023 Batch 'C' (Stream 1) corps members as part of activities to round off the three weeks orientation course. Mrs. Ani said that the essence of the exercise is to spell out guidelines that corps members are expected to follow throughout the service year having successfully completed the first phase which is the orientation course.
