Salaries: Akeredolu okays new mode of payment

Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has approved upward review of the mode of payment of Ondo State Workers’ salary for August, 2021 earlier announced by the Bureau of Information of the Organized Labour Union in the state. The Organized Labour Union after it’s meeting with government on the 26th, August, 2021 to consider FAAC RECEIPTS and VAT INFLOW vis-a-vis what is payable from the balance had agreed to payment of 65% balance of April, 2021 salary and 10% part payment of May, 2021 salary totaling 75%. In demonstration of his commitment to regular payment of Workers’ salary as well as given priority to their welfare, Governor Akeredolu directed payment of 65% balance of April, 2021 and 35% part payment of May, 2021 to make it 100%, this is in addition to January and February, 2021 part payment of consolidated leave bonus for the year 2021. “Institutions have now been given the liberty to decide cut off marks, there will be no cut off from JAMB.” These were the words of the Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede on Tuesday at the 2021 policy meeting which was held virtually, and chaired by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu. Speaking during the meeting, the Registrar said “Some universities such as University of Maiduguri proposed 150, Usman Dan Fodio University Sokoto proposed 140, Pan Atlantic University proposed 210, University of Lagos 200, Lagos State University 190, Covenant University 190, Bayero University Kano, 180. On the deadline for the closure of admissions, the stakeholders resolved to allow the ministry to decide as they could not agree on the December 31, 2021 deadline for all public institutions and January 31, 2022 for all private institutions.

Report says, he wanted to go and collect the foodstuffs his mom sent to him from Ore,  while returning, he had an accident and about nine persons died in the process.  His corpse was discovered and being deposited at FTH morgue, Ido Ekiti, by the  efforts of Ag. Ondo: 2021 Common Entrance Examination Results Released

The Ondo State Government has released the results of the 2021 Common Entrance Examination, also known as Placement Examination into the state public secondary Schools. The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science & Technology, Mrs Lola Amuda said the move was in tandem with the earlier promise to release the results in about two weeks. About 69,000 candidates sat for the Common Entrance Examination at 271 designated centres across the three senatorial districts of the state. Mrs. Lola Amuda lauded the peaceful and hitch-free conduct of the examination which took place about a fortnight ago throughout the state and thanked the state government for providing the needed logistics. In a statement signed and made available to our correspondent, by the Director of Public Relations and Protocols, S. O. Ojo, noted that the COVID-19 Vaccination will commence by 9.00am on Friday, while necessary aforementioned categories of people have been advised to be available at the Health Centre as early as possible.  "The vaccination will only last for two (2) days which are Friday and Monday as stated earlier." Ondo: Two policemen , one civilian killed by Gunmen

Three persons including a mobile policeman and one civilian were on Wednesday shot dead by gunmen suspected to be armed robbers during an attack on a bullion van in Ore, in Odigbo local government area of Ondo State. Roving Reporters reports that the incident was the second within two weeks that bullion vans would be attacked by suspected armed robbers in the state. The incident, according to eye witness occured at Costain area, few kilometers from Ore in Odigbo Local Government of the State. According to the source, the dare-devil armed robbers opened fire on the bullion van and the escort van while on motion. One of the sources said the bullion van was conveying undisclosed amount of money to Ore, when they ran into the hail of bullets of the suspected armed robbers who had laid ambush for the them. Former Military Governor of Ondo State, Rear Admiral Sunday Abiodun Olukoya(rtd) is dead.  He died on Tuesday during a brief illness at the age of 72.     The late Governor of old Ondo State  He was the Governor of the old Ondo State between 1989 and 1992. He took over from Commodore Olabode George and handed over to late Evangelist Bamidele Olumilua.

All the major entrance gates of the Oyo State Government Secretariat, Agodi-Gate, Ibadan have been shut over a protest by aggrieved youths. The protest, it was gathered, was in reaction to the alleged killing of a 15- year-old by suspected members of the Oyo State Security Network Agency codenamed Amotekun Corps. The youths, who arrived the Secretariat gate unannounced, blocked all the linking roads, disrupting human and vehicular movement. The youths also carried the corpse of the victim on the roof of a tricycle, calling on Governor Seyi Makinde, to fish out the killer Amotekun member. Efforts by the Governor’s Executive Assistant on Security CP Sunday Odukoya (rtd) to pacify the aggrieved protesters proved abortive. The State Coordinator made the disclosure in her speech during the closing ceremony of the orientation course for the 2021 Batch 'B' (Stream 1) corps members deployed to Ondo State. Mrs. Ani said that members of the service corps should integrate themselves with their new environment and then identify with the problems and aspirations of the host community. Ondo Federal lawmaker, Expensive is dead

The lawmaker representing Akure South and Akure North federal constituency in Ondo State, Adedayo Omolafe also known as Expensive is dead. Omolafe was elected to the House of Representatives in 2019 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He was a former Chairman of Akure South Local Government Area of the State during the Olusegun Agagu’s administration. A source close to the late Omolafe who craved anonymity said he died in Akure at about 2am on Monday. “Expensive was not sick, we were still together yesterday (Sunday) morning, this is so sad, a terrible blow dealt Akure,” the source added.
