Okotie gives reasons why Politicians resist restructuring

Interim government campaigner, Rev Chris Okotie has revealed why the widespread agitations for Restructuring has been difficult to actualise. Speaking as a guest on Fact File, the popular phone -in programme on Ray Power 100.5 FM , to mark the International Democracy Day recently in Lagos, the cleric blamed selfish political leaders for holding the country to ransom. Okotie said,'Our democratic process has merely favoured some people, politicians in particular, while the Nigerian people have just not benefitted from it in any way.' Tourism stakeholders decry airfares hike, call for urgent review downward

  By Chidinma Ewunonu-Aluko, Ibadan Stakeholders in the tourism industry have decried the recent hike in airfares, urging airline operators to urgently review it and save the industry from imminent collapse . They made the plea on Thursday at a symposium organised by the National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies (NANTA), Western Zone, held in Ibadan. In his remarks, NANTA National President, Mrs Susan Akporiaye, said that the industry was on the verge of collapsing due to hike in the prices of virtually everything in the country. “So, there is an urgent need for the Federal Government and all stakeholders to rise up and do something in addressing this issue. “I have laid off most of my staff because I can’t pay them; some now come to the office on schedules because they can’t afford transport fare. “We are all confused now in the industry, because the problems are too much for us to manage,” she said. Mother seeks financial assistance for her daughter, Oluwajomiloju suffering from hole in the heart

Emmanuel Oluwadola, Akure A petty trader, Mrs Abidemi Akinyele has cried to Nigerians for financial assistance for her four years old daughter, Oluwajomiloju Taiwo who was suffering from of a hole in the heart .  Mrs Abidemi Akinyele discovered a strange illness in her four years old daughter, Oluwajomiloju Taiwo On April 30, 2022 and immediately took her to Mother & Child hospital in Akure to know what was happening to the child. According to her,  Oluwajomiloju's health condition could not be handled at the aforementioned hospital, she was transferred to the State General Hospital, Akure, Ondo State and was later directed to carry her child to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Owo for treatment. As campaigns commences today, September 28 by all political parties in Nigeria ahead of 2023 general elections, the Online Media Professionals (OMP) in Ondo State have urged stakeholders to play the game by the rules.  This was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Chairman of OMP, Hakeem Adebumiti. The Association emphasized the need for campaigns to be issue based. "Campaign is an avenue for the parties to furnish the electorate with their manifestos and how possible they can make the country better rather than attacking personalities that could lead to chaos. Ondo: Stakeholders go spiritual over selling of Sunshine Stars FC

  Stakeholders in Ondo State have declared three days fasting and prayers over alleged selling off of  Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure by the  current administration in the State. World tourism day: NTDC tasks stakeholders on collaboration for sustainable tourism development

Ondo: Man allegedly kills 2yr-old stepdaughter

By Adeboye Ado, Akungba A man believed to be 22-year-old, identified as Muyiwa Ologunmole, has allegedly killed his stepdaughter, Seyifunmi Oluwarotimi.  The incident happened on Wednesday in Akungba, Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State. Abimbola, while recieving the new executive led by the chairman, Mrs Folasade Aladeniyi on a courtesy visit on Friday in Ibadan, congratulated them for emerging victorious. The CJ noted that in the Judiciary, the bar and the bench were like identical twins performing different functions aimed to achieving same goal. He, therefore, encouraged great partnership and cooperation between the bar and the bench,  while stressing the duties of keeping the dignity of the court. Curator promises to improve National Museum of Unity, society in Ibadan

Otuka made the promise on Friday during a meeting with members of the society, in Ibadan. She pledged to improve the state of the museum. According to Otuka, a major way to improve the condition of the museum is through revitalisation of the Museum Society. “I came with zeal to work.
