Fresh FM 102.9 FM Akure to be commissioned officially Today

By Murphy Joe, Akure The latest Radio station, Fresh FM 102.9 is set to be commissioned officially  on November 1st, 2022 (Today) in Akure, the Ondo state capital.  The radio station which started a few years ago is owned by Popular Music star and Broadcaster, Dr Olayinka Joel Ayefele MON The station will be Managed by Popular broadcaster, Ambassador Segun-Babs Babayemi and its team. By Our correspondent  Death has been announced of Mr Ilemobola Akinbadejo Omotadowa popularly known as Charles in Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo State.  He died at the age of 75 years during a brief illness.  According to Mr Dare Akinbadejo while speaking with Newsline NG, Papa is gone and the burial arrangement have been concluded He said the Reception and entertainment of his burial will be held on November 7 , 2022 at his residence at Opasorun odole, Odode Idanre, Ondo State  Newsline NG however gathered that Late Ilemobola Akinbadejo Omotadowa was born in 1947 and died in 2022.

Joseph Akinfenwa, has urged Nigerians to do away with nepotism and parochial sentiments in voting during the 2023 general elections . Akinfenwa gave the advice on Sunday at the Diocesan 2022 Jesus Festival/Harvest Thanksgiving held in Ibadan. NUJ warns journalists in Kogi

The Kogi State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists has called on journalists in the State to "guard against being used by unscrupulous politicians who may be out to run down the government of Kogi State under Governor Yahaya Bello for whatever reasons. "  The Council urged journalists to let the ethics of the media profession take the center stage in their practice, noting that falsifying reports was criminal and that Governor Bello had performed very well.  Chairman of the Council, Comr. Social vices causes get-rich-quick syndrome - Clerics

By Chidinma Ewunonu-Aluko, Ibadan The Oyo State chapter of the  Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has identified get-rich-quick syndrome as one of the causes of social vices such as ritual killings in the country.  The State Chairman of CAN, Apostle Joshua Akinyemiju, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Ibadan. He was reacting to the rising cases of killings and other vices across the country. He said that the socio-cultural dynamics characterised by heterogeneous population with an underlying ethno-religious tension was also causing division in the country. Stalemate at Ondo SWAN election: Members reject attempt to appoint former Chairman into Caretaker Committee

The Sport Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN),Ondo State Chapter was thrown into chaos on Thursday set for the election of the association as dissolved Chairman of the exco, Wahab Bankole planned to extend his tenure through the backdoor as the caretaker committee chairman. It will be recalled that the tenure of the current executive had expired in May 2022 after election had been fixed for Oct. 27 only for the Zonal Vice President to announce that the election be placed on hold the ground of receiving a petition from one of the Chairmanship aspirant, Mr Michael Akintunde. During a special congress today, members unanimously dissolved the former Exco led by Bankole and called for the composition of a caretaker committee to conduct fresh election. The Management of National Youth Service Corps wishes to inform members of the public that the 2022 Batch ‘C’ Stream One Orientation Course would commence on Wednesday 2nd November, 2022 and end on Tuesday 22nd November, 2022. The three weeks Orientation exercise would hold simultaneously in all the thirty-six NYSC Orientation camps across the country including the FCT, Abuja. All the prospective Corps Members (including the foreign-trained) must present themselves for COVID-19 Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) or present evidence of full vaccination at the Camp before registration. Prospective Corps Members are advised not to embark on night journey to the Orientation Camps in order not to endanger themselves. The 2022 Ondo State All-Stars football competition at the weekend marred with alleged match fixing ,which triggered protests among the participating teams and spectators at the state sports complex,Akure, as defending Champions, Ekimogun All-stars pulled out of the competition. All Stars is an association of ex- footballers that have played the game to the highest level within and out side the country,which are supposed to serve as a role model to upcoming footballers. Olasupo Ayokunle, former National President, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has called on successive governments to build a productive economy to create job opportunities and prosperity. The 66 Years old lawmaker from Ikere Ekiti was reportedly rushed to the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital in the early hours of  Wednesday over cardiac-related issues. His last official engagement was on Tuesday when he accompanied the Governor of the State, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji to inspect some bad portions of roads in Ado Ekiti. Ondo Varsity resumes Academic Activities

The Management of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, has announced October 17, 2022, as resumption date for academic activities for the Second Semester of the 2020/2021 academic session, following the suspension of industrial action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU. Akinfenwa made the call at the 2022/2023 Oyo State Legal Year Thanksgiving Service held in Ibadan on Monday. He said that continuous high cost of food items could worsen situation of things in the country and could affect efficient delivery of justice. He called on the government and relevant stakeholders to come to the aid of farmers and states that were victims of flood recently.
