Press week: Ondo NUJ visits Children's Centre, gifts food items

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ondo State Council has donated food items and toiletries to inmates of the state children correctional centre Akure. The gesture is part of activities to celebrate the nuj 2022 press week. Leading a team of journalists to the home, the chairman nuj Ondo State prince leke Adegbite said the union have identified with the vulnerable to celebrate with them. Prince Adegbite while empathizing with the inmates encourage them to keep hope alive for a brighter future. He called on government to intensify effort in implementing policies that would further reduce hunger and crime rate in the land. Residents want Wahab Hakeem as the new Alaketu of Ketu Kingdom

Residents of Ketu in Ikosi/Ejirin Local Council Development Area,LCDA under Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State on Monday, called on the Ooni of Ife,Oba Adeyeye Enita Ogunwusi,Ojaja the II, Oba Frederick Obateru Akinruntan,the Olugbo of Igbo Kingdom and other prominent monarchs and Southwest Governors'Forum SGF, to approve the installation of one Mr Wahab Hakeem as the Alaketu of Ketu Kingdom.  This followed after the immediate past monarch, Adeyemi Adefowora who succeeded late Alaketu of Ketu Kingdom, Oba (Dr) Adegboyega Adefowora but assassinated during coronation, however, causing the stool of Alaketu to remains vacant till date. The Former Vice Chairman of the Ondo State Football Association, Otunba Dele Ologbese says that the Ondo State Government's announcement of the outright sale of Sunshine  Stars is a misplaced priority.  It would be recalled that the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Abimbola, who inaugurated the committee on Tuesday in Ibadan, said that the aim was also to provide stakeholders with an accessible, inexpensive and speedy resolution of financial disputes. “The SCC is part of the Oyo State Judiciary reform agenda for effective and efficient administration of justice, the reduction of time for dispute resolution as well as improvement of transparency in the administration of justice. “The court is designed to dispense matters within 30 days and judgment delivered within 14 days of conclusion of hearing; the entire proceedings from filling to judgment shall not exceed 60 days,’’ he said.
