Yoruba group commends F-SARS over crime control

A Pan-Yoruba socio/cultural organisation, the Defense for Yoruba People's Right (DYPR) has commended the operation of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) over its effort at reducing crime rate in the country. The group also commended the efforts of the police for working diligently towards sustaining the prevailing peace that has prevailed within the  south west region of the country in the last past few years. How political thugs attack us in Owo ---Jegede

Press Statement The convoy of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) was today attacked in Ipele and Owo township in Owo Local Government by heavily armed APC political thugs.  A PDP member by name, Hon. Amuda Sikiru, was shot in the face and abdomen during our campaign rally in Owo town by the APC thugs. The victim who is still lying unconscious was rushed to the state's specialist hospital in Akure in the Ambulance attached to the candidate's convoy.  Also wounded by the APC thugs' bullet attacks were Messes Taye Akintufede and Seun Ogunlade. The Campaign train of the Peoples Democratic Party Govenorship Candidate, Eyitayo Jegede has been attacked by some political thugs in Ipele in Owo local government area of Ondo state. The thugs were said to have blocked access to the palace of the king and the maternal home of the PDP candidate in a bid to deny him access to both places earlier scheduled to be visited by  Jegede. Ekiti State Executive Committee of All Progressives Congress, APC, has suspended Governor Kayode Fayemi. A statement by the party on Friday said the governor was suspended due to “his numerous anti-party activities, especially his role in the recently concluded governorship election in Edo State, which is contrary to the provisions of Article 21 (A) (ii) of the APC Constitution.” APC said five days before the Edo election, Fayemi hosted Mr. Femi Fani- Kayode, a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain, in Ado Ekiti and planned a coup against Edo APC. Political Thugs Invade Ondo Deputy Governor’s Campaign Secretariat

Suspected political thugs was reported to have attack the campaign office of the Deputy Governor and candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Hon Agboola Ajayi. The security personnel attached to the Secretariat, Mr Gbenga Olayoriju, said the thugs who were five in number came in an APC branded vehicle, attacked the Secretariat, destroying the billboard and other valuables at the premises. Seven political thugs remanded in Ondo

An Akure Magistrate Court today has  remanded s even suspected political thugs  to the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Service Centre, Olokuta Akure. Recalled that, the suspected thugs were arrested last week with firearms in Ose local government area of the state The Akure Magistrate Court was presided by Magistrate Tope Aladejana.
